I have checked out some of the kiosks for a comparison only, down along the N340 from as far back as Granada area and some were asking for 380€euros when we were only paying €200 from Carlos. I’ve no idea what he is currently charging, it would be interesting to get an up to date quote.Think I ought to revise this - latest info appears to suggest the rate has now doubled. No doubt it'll be the ferry companies trying to claw back some of their losses, don't think Carlos would damage his reputation by doing this for himself.
It would be interesting to find out prices from other sources, such as the roadside kiosks on the way to Algeciras.

I did the same cancelling Safeguard motor insurance I've been with them over twenty years but they wouldn't cover Morocco. For what it's worth I've just cancelled my insurance policy with Comfort after many years with them & told them the exact reason for cancelling (no longer covering Morocco at any level!)
And at the same time I took out a 3 year deal guaranteed price with Saga and after several assurances including in writing I can also confirm the green card is free and the cover is fully comprehensive including protected no claims etc
Comforts lose is Saga's gain (even took out my travelling insurance with them too which looks top notch as well)![]()
I Understand but I'm Irish so don't have that 90 day limit, which by the way I think is a ridiculous piece of legislation, but that's getting political which we're not permitted on here... but glad you got sorted anywayI did the same cancelling Safeguard motor insurance I've been with them over twenty years but they wouldn't cover Morocco.
As for travel insurance I had the same idea, Saga, unfortunately I had to cancel it after I'd bought it and reading the Ts&Cs there's a 90 day cap and I wanted to use Morocco to extend the 90 day Shengen limit, so my total travel was going to be well over 90 days.
Using Staysure instead.
I use Locus Maps app (android only though) although it's a steep learning curve when you first get it and it needs a offline routing service (Brouter) I think it's the bees knees, you can download their Lomaps to use offline and they cover every country in the world, you can also get other maps and even overlay them, for the UK I have lomaps overlaid with Ordnance survey brilliant for my cycling, driving etc.Anyone have any thoughts on the best paper map? We use it mostly for longer term planning, general direction to head, etc.
While I’m on the subject of maps, we have a Garmin sat nav. Is it worth buying any extra maps for it, if they even exist?
I got it for my scooter last time in Morocco and it worked out about £80 for 3 months whether you were staying 3 months or 3 weeks! LolHas anyone got the border insurance before...? If so how much is it….![]()

I don't understand why you say only 90 days with Saga motor insurance i have a green card with them for Morocco [where i am now ] which gives me 180 days in MoroccoI did the same cancelling Safeguard motor insurance I've been with them over twenty years but they wouldn't cover Morocco.

Plenty of space by the Mercadona side of the complex to overnight if needed. Only a shortish wall to Carlos.Mentioning Carlos -somebody posted earlier that the overnight parking outside was now being built on, checking google earth it looks to still be there but no idea what the time lag is, anyone been lately? is it still an option?
But whatever you do, don’t buy that Conde Noble red wine from Mercadona, it’s not even fit to put on yer chipsPlenty of space by the Mercadona side of the complex to overnight if needed. Only a shortish wall to Carlos.
Parking outside his office is still ok whilst you do the booking with him.
