Never uploaded photos before. What have I done wrong? Why only thumbnail Size?

That's Tafroute ! Many do not go until mid Feb. or later. I well remember the freezing mornings there and the glorious days. Will be there in around 3 weeks.
Mmm the night's hadn't been too bad til last night but the days more than make up for it, what a shame , we'll be on our way back up country by then but we might meet in the middle

FOR ANYONE WISHING TO JOIN US

We are planning to cross from Algeciras to Tanger-Med mid-morning of Tuesday 29th January. Currently ourselves, @Portland and @Nik but are happy to include any other paid up Funster in our party for possible discount. If you wish to join us please PM me for contact details (I don't respond to Profile messages).

Plan is to meet at the parking near Carlos', Voyages Normandie, across the road from Carrefour at Palmones Commercial Centre, junction 112 off A7 by 1.00pm Monday 28th to buy tickets. Co-ords N36deg10'43" W05deg26'22"

Plenty of supermarkets to stock up, a MacDonalds if that floats your boat - there is a nice Chinese WOK couple of hundred yards away. Stay overnight then short transfer to the port early Tuesday. Thereafter TBA. If you need to refill gas, nearest is Repsol at J97 on the A381 at Los Barrios.

We intend to stay at Parque Tropical ASCI site at Estepona for 3 nights beforehand to do last washing etc.

We decided to drive from Essaouira to Le Relais in Marrakesh and it is a beautiful site. There are a number of comments and reviews about it on here BUT the one thing no one mentioned is that there is no drinking water on site at all..................or rather they are selling 5l bottles for 20dh....................just something to be aware of.

Taxi into town is 100dh for up to 6 people but we are thinking of an overnight "city break" rather than driving in to the Koutoubia Mosque overnight parking.

We enjoyed this as a way to visit Rabat, so I wonder if anyone knows of/has used a cheap and cheerful hotel close to the "nightlife" ......that's the Djema el Fna rather than Dee Dee's Disco.

Then back to the coast.................@hotelman are you still here ?

Yes, still here until the morning, you can’t miss us, we are next door to the Swiss morello, and we have our satellite dish up with the niesmann logo on it. where are you parked.
Tomorrow down towards Ouarzazate we think !!!

Just a little chilly, so red wine in doors !!!

P.s I’ll be the one in morning blocking the service facility while I fill up with 420 litres of water .....I’ll enjoy keeping out French friends waiting (y):D

Does the little stall outside the gate sell water?, also we got great fruit and veg on site from the man with a donkey and cart. Great value and great to help the locals as opposed to the marjane.

For those of you heading this way.......... Mirleft Guardian parking. Hard right turn before entering town. If you reach the bridge you have passed the turning, it's on a downward slope and doubles back on itself so easy to miss. Twenty Dirhams per 24hrs. Plenty of parking space and Guardian (Rashied) will open toilet for you to empty cassette. No water here so come loaded. 25 minute walk into town that has all you need, bank, garage, cafes, shops, etc, etc,.

We stayed there a few years ago with @kiwicoss. Great location, nice and quiet. Be careful getting out though - we encountered bad wheel spin on the gravel and we couldnt turn left onto the main road because the turn was too sharp for our 9m van. We ended up turning right and turning round in the town.

Hi Mike, trust all is well with you and Gwen, Mena misses you both. Anyway, the slip road has now been tarmarked and is ok.

Left Mirleft this morning, we ran out of water. It just preempted our next move and were sitting on a campsite (Camping Tamharoucht ) just outside Sidi Ifni. 80 MAD all in. 6 amp lecce, free water, WiFi, showers etc, etc, No washing machine but just as Mena started to get into our mega wash, young lady turns up with flyer for launderette in the town. 10 KG for 30 MAD. so we will visit tomorrow in a taxi 10-30 MD. Job Done. We will stay here for several days now.

We found a nice site in Tiznit after finding all the ones closer to town were full. Riad assallf 65 d a night big pitch olive trees and peacocks. Toilets and showers leave a lot to be desired. Toilet and shower combined? Not filthy but not particularly clean either. Weather is beautiful hot and sunny
Is that the one with the wedding venue /hall by the side?

Bound to happen Marc campsites in this are all seem to be 80 Dirham. Still like you say, it's a decent set up, showers are hot and toilets and showers modern and clean and a very short trip into town. Very quiet here too, so that's another bonus.

I think it’s already been mentioned but anyone planning on using the Marrakesh to Ouarzazate Road should be aware that in the mountain passes they are doing loads and loads of road works, and therefore the route is incredibly bumpy and slow, even by morroccan standard. Make sure every thing is fastened tightly, and be careful opening you beer after the journey !!!!!. It will be a fantastic road when it’s finished.

On the subject of roads. The coast road from Aglou plague to Sidi Ifnit is the best none motorway road we have been on. Fully up to European standards with whote lines, edage markings and a very good surface, probabbly totally relayed in last 12 months or so.

Thanks for all the updates. Our motorhome doesn't like bumpy roads. We have had it 2.5 years been up to the Russian border, here there and everywhere and the other day out of the blue an alarm fob we had never ever seen dropped out of the bottom of the reversing camera monitor.

Mrs billym and co enjoyed their cookery class at a private house in Essaouira . Lots of lovely food and very interesting conversation.

We have moved a short distance to des Oliviers at Ounagha.

Very nice site. 100 dh. It is full . Staying to go to the souk at Had Draa which we are told is an experience not to be missed

Arrived at sidi Kaouki yesterday and staying at camping soliel as recommended by @PhilandMena. Very windy when we arrived but calm and hot today, so staying for a few days unless the wind returns

Heads up for Laundry.
We were visited by two ladies yesterday with fliers for local laundry in Sidi Ifni. According to Google reviews it is possible the best place in Morooco ? Fully automatic modern washers and driers. 10 KG for 30 MAD (washing including suds and oxygen ???) drying 20 MAD (unlimited time). So, all you mingers out there heading this way bear this in mind. We mingers are heading down there this morning. Were told 10 MAD in a taxi (probably shared with a goat, sheep and a shephard, and a detour). Sun is up and its going to be another great day. Pictures later. By the way I updated my Garmin map (10GB) on the camp WiFi yesterday. One of the bennifits of being 20 feet from one of their aerials I suppose.

Back from the launderette ! It's exactly as described in my previous thread and not far from the outdoor market. A gem of a place.
A few of pictures of Camping Tamharouche and a couple from the market. Quite a few more on here today with loads of spaces on three tiers of parking. Weather, as expected. Mena used her 2000 W hair drier this morning and it did not trip the lecce.
