Morocco 2019

Interesting how Carlos used to book your actual ferry on the way out, and give you an open return, this year it’s open both ways, so it’ll be a bun fight at Algeciras in the morning, to get on the 8am ferry, rest assured we’ll be on the ferry, :)

Fridge warning light came on......No gas! We have run out of our first 6kg bottle. Connected butane bottle to Gaslow inlet via Gaslow tube and filter (which I have used before without a problem) cracked open the bottle and nothing. I expected to hear the sound of rushing gas pouring into the empty cylinder. No obstruction in pipe as I can blow through that easily and when I crack bottle open with no tube attached I get escaping gas.????? I'm thinking the pressure in the bottle is not high enough to overcome the one way valve in my Gaslow system and perhaps I need to let ithr bottle sit in direct sunlight for a while and then maybe try again. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. Anyway, now running fridge off second and last Gaslow 6kg bottle and all is well, for now.

As the advance ‘party’ please keep your weather updates coming. We’ve decided to cross tomorrow morning, and then down to kenitra . Insallah :)
So are you at Carlos's then, we are

Are you backfeeding thru your bullfinch point, ?
If you are Try it again Phil, close off the full 6kg bottle, then try your gas stove after few minutes,
If you feeding thro thu fill point again close off the full bottle,, make sure the empty is open open wait few mins and again try gas stove

Try holding the doner bottle above the gaslow bottle upside down( valve pointing towards the gaslow bottle) and let gravity take it's course

You can add another zero on that for 2015 a little less in 2016 and I suspect around 200 for this year but in saying that we are seeing more French on this trip than ever before.
We spoke to some frenchies and they said they didn't come last year ad they couldn't get insured

Btw Phil if you are feeding it thru the fill point you don’t need a regulator

Camping L'Ocean Bleu at Mohammedia was exactly the same when we were last there, ankle deep in water. I can only say don't despair, stick with it and as Phil has said, things will improve as you move further south. You will soon forget the cool wet first week.

@billym We left L'Ocean Bleu 2 days ago and really enjoyed the site....beautiful and warm and dry.
Like so many of these things..........if you are lucky it all works well.........and if not...............NOT

If the truck comes towards you at exactly the same time as you approach the brow of the hill on the narrow track..........???????

But if it doesn't then all is well In Shalla

This technique is for transferring fluid and not vapour from one bottle to another and quite dangerous. I am trying to transfer vapour from one bottle to another which I have done a few times in the past without any difficulty. I will try again tomorrow.

I'm not using a regulator Marc. It's going (or should be) from one 12 KG bottle straight to the fill point via a proper Gaslow connection. There is no blockage in the tube, no blockage in the bottle so I think its about pressure ? Hence my thoughts about letting it get a bit warmer before transferring. I will try again tomorrow. I just fail to understand why it will not fill the empty (well almost empty bottle ). I'll play around with it again tomorrow.

Should not matter which bottle is opened or closed Marc as filling is via a one way separate fill valve.

We're lazy we're on 11am

The gods are not smiling on me! Firstly no joy yesterday with the gas and then one of the Fiddlesticksing dogs runs off with one of my sandles left by the step. The locals pissing themselves when they kindly returned it too me later in the evening and to top it all while showing a young German couple places to stop this morning another one starts drinking from my cup of coffee that was just out of my line of sight. They may be wild but their very intelligent and quick to seize an opportunity. I'm expecting one or two to try and sell me some fish today. Just found out the hotel has a dedicated football tv so might catch some Sunday football today.

When on goodish WiFi go to www.hesgoal.com and you can watch just about any football ( or other strange games) ever live.

Liverpool Crystal Palace perfectly yesterday
Wanted to watch Huddersfield Man City today but I have to go to the Mosque

Does anyone know roughly how much the leather shoes/ sandals for children's sizes should be ??

I think you'll find Ipg (either butane or propane)is liquid petroleum gas, it is liquid in the bottle and produces gas from the liquid, I'm blond and even I know that.

Gas problem solved. Met a very nice couple today, Steve & Sam and got chewing the fat as you do. Well Sam turns out to be a mechanical problem solver who has been used by many big company's and still sought after by previous customers. I explain my problem and within minutes he's got it solved. The gas was going through all the time and I had assumed it was not because I did not hete the rush of gas going into the bottle as I had before. He established after undoing a couple of connections the gas was indeed going into the bottle and straight to the regulator then onto my services. So, all is well and I now have the one full Gaslow bottle shut off which I will use when we decide to leave Morocco. I am a happy bunny today.

Enjoy your carrots then:)

Just had a good drop of rain. Yippee! Motorhomes was covered in sand and shit and now gets a free wash. Will be back to normal after next journey no doubt.
