Latest update: Summary - trade unions and human rights organisations have called for nationwide protests on 20 February; large numbers of people may take part in main cities across Morocco; you should remain vigilant and exercise caution

Thanks for that Simon. I had no idea it was anything like 20th feb today!

Landed in Tafaroute this morning - it was like coming home! Nice drive from Tiznit, the scenery getting better as I got closer.
Been greeted like a long lost friend by half a dozen of the locals (all wanting something - shallow) and seen a few funsters and introduced @Dennisad to beer o'clock, nice to meet you guys.
The town has changed again in the two years since we were here. The swimming pool building has a lid on and the pool itself is tiled and looks ready to go! There are pavements where before there were none, the market has moved to the bus car park and I have not ventured past the butchers and chicken shack yet!!!
Perhaps slightly less vans here but same friendly guardians.
I will be here til about mid march, in the same spot, so if you are passing - pop in and bring a bottle(y)(y)(y)
Wish we were with you mate, love to Lin, have fun.

Some pics from our trip to El Ouatia (Tan Tan Plage) through MAMOBA country (Miles And Miles Of Bu@@er All!) And Tim on the outdoor gym:rofl:

I’m now sitting on the seafront, wild camping, at torremolinos. I can’t believe I left swmbo and our granddaughter at Marrakech-Tensift-Al airport yesterday morning. And woke up this morning on the guardian parking In assilah.

For those who know the guardian, I will tell a little story. As you know he always pesters for a beer, however yesterday he wanted wine, I had a great idea and decided to give him the free bottle we got from carlos, great idea, I gave it to him secretly, he then said to me ‘ that’s the free bottle you get from carlos, it’s weak white , have you any red’ cheeky bugger I thought, so I gave him a can of beer !!!!

You couldn’t make it up !!!!

If you're talking about the beachside Guardian Parking on the north edge of town, the fellow asked me if I had a gift for him from Canada, so I rooted around and found a Canadian flag. He stuck his nose up at that and asked if we had any wine. I said, yes, I could spare some Spanish wine; he said "box or bottle?" Well he didn't want any box wine, so I gave him a bottle of 60 DH Moroccan wine. (Carlos' bottle of vino tinto was long gone, but honestly I found it superior to most of the box wine I smuggled into Morocco! )

Splendid beer’oclock yesterday evening, and a big thanks to Ali n Tim for introducing us to the delites of toffee vodka, wow will be getting plenty of that back in Spain, mucho gracios,

Weather now improving, here in Spain. Looks like everywhere has had a bit of a shit time this year. Moroc is as good a place weather wise as anywhere else and once the heat turns on will be a great place to be. I think we will return next winter.

Hi there,
We are planning to spend 2-3 months in Morocco September/October/November 2018.
This will be our first time in Morocco and it could be great to have the company of other motorhomers on the trip.
Anybody interested??

thats a very quiet time for m,homers , plus november is a rainy season .
mind its nicer when there isnt so many in some ways .
sept can be quite hot .
have fun though and be on your guard .

Fairly quiet first night at 'Almond-Fest'.
The pics were taken early while there was some light but it got busier later. Music? went on 'til after midnight but only faint up at the camping.
The big thing is the way they have pulled out all the stops to get the town looking good.
New pavements and streetlights, new roundabout and paving around the Lion, the old park/tree area flattened and replaced with paving, new seats and a kids play area, and the swimming pool is finished!!!

And the chicken shack?

After having problems with the trailer on the way down to Morocco and then a fire in the fridge freezer we stopped at a fantastic English type campsite at Los Lobos. We arrived on the of 28 February we got a full service pitch at nine euros with electricity and water. The pitches are wide enough for the car trailer motor home and the awning. We normally use the shower in the van but we have a disabled shower less than 30 m from the van and there are only three other motorhomes on site and they have their own block. The weather has been fantastic apart from 2 cloudy day with a spot of rain actually most welcome. The campsite is run by an English couple, the ground staff are the most hilarious characters that you can wish to met they look funny when you look at them because they walk bent backwards which comes from bending over backwards to help all the time. I could quite get signal on my dish no trouble they cut some of the trees down. We are so impressed with the site 15 minutes from shops restaurants and the sea we decided to give Morocco a miss this year as we feel so comfortable in this site what more could you ask. It even has lending library with videos and DVDs all free. it will be a big toss up between here for Morocco next year we been here four weeks and plan on spending another couple months. Sorry to miss meeting up with other frontages in Morocco we did bump into I think they called the old couple in a car park near here they just come back from Portugal and said the weather was horrendous
