Morocco 2018

Starting what we hope will be a long informative thread
Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if there has been a new thread started yet for January 2019 and where am I likely to find it, I noticed on the 2018 Morocco thread that one had started but I tried but couldn't find it. Thanks for any help. Gwyntaxi.

Yes agree. Even in Morocco it can get cold in the winter months, especially in the mountains and on the eastern plateau. Eastern side will be better the later you do it.

Just a heads up for everybody thinking of going this winter, a new thread Morocco 2019 has now been started.

Punched Morocco 2019 into the search bar Tel, no thread ? can you post linky

Phoned Safeguard today. Luckily we sneaked our renewal before the changes, so they're sending us the green card.:D
Dog went for his titre test today. Fingers crossed now for a good result.;)

read on the MCC forum today that SAGA have stopped covering Morocco .

It is looking like if you do not go to Morocco early 2019 you may not be going in 2020 ,

It's the Moroccan folk I feel sorry for, oh, and us, I feel sorry for us.
Gonna have to make an effort and get another van soon. Been away from Africa for 8 months now and missing it.......

Daz , Have you heard anything about problems in getting cover in Europe for Morocco or is it just the UK ,
We did hear last time that some French were having insurance problems .

Emailed a Dutch friend today they don't have any insurance problems with Morocco.

You can buy 3rd party insurance on the boarder at Tangier’s
Wouldn’t like to try and claim on it..... but keeps you legal.

Does anyone know why the 2019 thread is not showing on the forum headings? Maybe why people are still posting under this heading.

We live in France ours is covered for Morocco by Maaf no problems so far

GrannieAnnie

The problem is with the UK insurance and has been for a while . this year will be the first time in 5 years of trying that i have got motorcycle insurance for Morocco.
Out of interest does your Insurance cover Turkey and Bosnia as our MH insurance dose not .

Just checked and yes we are covered only countries crossed out are Russia and Iran don't think we will be visiting either anytime soon

Yes eu insurance covers a lot more places.
Our Belgium friends were with Axa and were covered for loads of places we weren't.
When i asked i was told its a different Axa ..

Try using the link above then "follow" the page. It'll then come up on your Alerts.

Edit - I couldn't see it either. It might be because there were two threads with the same name and maybe @Jim did something to sort them out.

Some advice for those of you in Moroc. On our last trip we, along with Mike Makems went as far south as Dakhla. Upon return to the UK I had my motorhome serviced and asked for the filters to be kept so I could see how bad they were. Well they were bad, both Air and Diesel filters were minging and according to service guy some of the worst he had ever seen. So, they both did the job they were supposed to do and the M/Home ran as well as it has ever ran, Faultless. Anyway, I would advise changing Air filter as soon as you cross over back into Spain and the next time we go I'll take a spare filter and try and plan the by-annual service to coincide with my departure from Maroc.
You pay for any recovery etc, but make sure you get and keep them otherwise ADAC wii not re-Imburse without receipts.
