Morocco 2018

@tometucker
Really sorry to hear of your experience.
I'm sure the locals will be horrified at what you have experienced and I don't relish the culprits chances if he is found.
They need tourism badly and the funds it brings in.
These are people who leave their market stalls open while they go to the mosque. Trust is a big thing and I've never heard it being abused.
Are they still in touch with You?

We are full of admiration, praise & gratitude for the people of Marocco. I came within minutes of bleeding to death, I knew as my head went cold & I lost conciousness that I was on the way out. Somehow they staunched the bleeding, got me to hospital & stitched me up or else I was dead. Apart from that they put my wife straight into a hotel & then took care of us until I recovered, all without any cost to ourselves. The Police even brought our motorhome to our hotel.

I only hope we would have done as much for a stranger in our country. We have been invited to return again next year as their guests which we will be doing. Im Shallah
!

@Dazzlin took the hint about hijacking the post re Benidorm:wink: I did wonder about whether there was another Taroute!! We are in a lovely site in Ounara just east of Essaouira stopping 2 days and possibly meeting up with some funsters who travelled down the east side and are now in Tiznit. In any case hope to catch up with you in time for the almond festival.(y) xx

Just checked the location of Tighmert in Maroc and noticed there is now a Marjane Shopping Mall in Guelmim shown on the map. Don't know if its of any use to you. You've probably driven by and already know of its existence. We stayed at the same auberge a few years back. Nice location.

Now at Camping Imsouane. Stopped here in 2016. Loved it then, love it now. Very laid back, surfing spot. If you see the photo of the tuna fish, it cost 50 dirhams(£3.88)
Second only to Tafroute (y)

See you at the weekend.

Being at over 1,000m above sea level takes a bit of the heat out of it. Though why? - when we are closer up here?

I’m now sitting on the seafront, wild camping, at torremolinos. I can’t believe I left swmbo and our granddaughter at Marrakech-Tensift-Al airport yesterday morning. And woke up this morning on the guardian parking In assilah.

For those who know the guardian, I will tell a little story. As you know he always pesters for a beer, however yesterday he wanted wine, I had a great idea and decided to give him the free bottle we got from carlos, great idea, I gave it to him secretly, he then said to me ‘ that’s the free bottle you get from carlos, it’s weak white , have you any red’ cheeky bugger I thought, so I gave him a can of beer !!!!

You couldn’t make it up !!!!

I've no doubt everybody gives their "Carlos wine" to him!

The big question is ‘has anyone been desperate enough to taste it ‘ ?.

Did I give away something like a ‘Chablis premiere cru’ ?,

Cider usually has the foil and wire top like on a champagne bottle
you could see all the tops in the bags so i knew it was the cider
