Morocco 2015

A night or two at Bellavista would be good Terry give people a chance to meet and matter Roncab

£44.95. Updated to latest version a week ago.

Looks like a worthwhile investment so have splashed out. Thanks too Carol.

So that's it then, we need a " Roads to avoid list" start posting then we can cut and paste into one list!
Wimp! By the time you've finished you won't get past Rabat! Seriously though, follow Makems advice and just take it easy! Oh and make sure your spare tyre is ok - don't even THINK of going without one.

We're planning to go there anyway (they're ACSI and Caravan Club too) and I've contacted them to see if we can do a deal, but they're not playing until they've seen their bookings for January so will have to wait and see on that.

Similarly Carlos has responded with €200 for M/H plus 2 pax for open return ferry tickets - not sure if this is the discounted rate as they have asked me to give them numbers closer to the day. It was €200 less 10% last time, but of course prices do go up.

Checked health insurance, got green card, app, shots. owt else?

Brass, gelt spondulacs, money euros, credit cards, pre-paid cards
Dartford Crossing prepaid
Copies of your V5, MOT, and Insurance for van - you will have to produce these at Tangier Med
Passports

I got stopped and the police asked to see my 'Control Technique' - didn't have a clue what he meant then was told later that its the MOT. Moroccan System is modelled on the French.

Dinar are no use in Maroc - the currency is the Dirham. The exchange rate seemed to be the same wherever you go. There are several porta-kabins as you exit Tanger Med and these are where you can get enough money changed should you need it before the first stop in Asilah where there are banks and Maroc Telecom for purchase of sim card for internet use.

Fo0r all those Funsters intending to visit Morocco in 2015 and have a Tom Tom map I have placed in Resources a zip file containing co-ordinates to some of the places you may want to visit. It is certainly not an exhaustive list but I am happy to add to the file if anyone wants to provide place names and co-ordinates.

I am sure that Google will provide instructions on how to load the POI to your map or else PM me and I will attempt to go through it with you.

were do I find the morocan Resources info.
thanks in advance.

it was €180 last time Tel
Yep, that was the rate Andrew got for us - €200 less 10%. When I've got a better idea of the final numbers I'll contact Carlos again.

Lots of roads closed at the moment according to gov travel advice due to flooding, lets hope it drains away before we arrive!

As per Colin's previous post, we also bought The iPad App and found it satisfactory. Just wished they did Maroc for Snooper because with the TT App, we went down some roads Id never go down again, even if I had a four wheel drive off road frigging moon buggy.
:):( :eek::eek::eek:
Tee, hee, been there, done that.
One wrong turn and the comment 'there's bound to be a turn off soon' Took us on a three and a half hour drive down a crater strewn and partly flooded track and through some of what must have been some of the most impoverished parts of the country. Scary, interesting and an eye opening experience.
To us, all part of the adventure.
But after that we blue toothed our phone to our iPad and used Google maps to help with navigation.

There was 5 ins of rain in Agadir the other day , , i wonder how Tagazoute beach parking is ?.
There is a video showing over 2 feet of water running down the main street in Tiz Nit ,
Heavy snow in Quazazate ... No fresh water /food or electricity in Guelmin ,
Things not good for the Moroccans at all . It is a Great Shame .A lot of them did not have much to start with ,

Remember the French bloke opposite us was knee deep in water when he opened his hab door that morning at Camping Ocean Bleu at Mohammedia. Our pitch was just a tad higher.

yes its to be hoped the weather bucks up before mid January :(

It was a good thing we did a lot of the more remote areas last time , i think some of the roads and bridges may be washed away ,
Are there any funsters in Morocco , has anyone heard anything from any one over there .
i have tried to contact Mohamed and his family south of Agidir but no email reply yet ...

Hi, Loaded your POI into my Moroc map and they display Ok. However, there is no supporting information about the POI, just a place? Are they all the same, can you provide some more information !

The Dec 2014 Tom Tom Moroc map came pre-loaded with POI's and when you select one it provides more information.

Thanks in advance.

What info are you looking for.... They were compiled from my travels and the threads for the groups that went in 2013 & 2014

Have heard a rumour via Facebook, that upwards of 20,000 French Camping Cars are NOT going to be in Morocco this winter on account of the IS threat, and also the current state of many roads and bridges resulting from the November Flash Floods. Road repairs in Morocco can take years. Consequently the French will all be in Spain and Portugal so be warned.

I was hoping your POI would tell me what type of POI it was, i.e. a scenic place, rest place, restaurant, etc, etc, etc.
