Morocco 2015

_______________________________________________________
End of an era..the Moroccan King wants to bring his people into the 21st Century..what's wrong with Atlantic Park? have you stayed there?
Yes, along with 1100 other motorhomes. I agree it has good facilities but just too big for my liking. And there's very little to do within a short walk of the entrance compared with Taghazoute beach.
OK if you need to park up for a few days and get some laundry done, but Give me the Ethiopian Refugee Camp every time.

The more vans on the nice regimented prison camps the better for the rest of us . As for the king draging moroco into the 21st centuty its nothing to do with the king its big buisiness and outside invesment . The rich get richer and the ordinary people sufer .

tagga was doomed years ago. where every one parked was farmers fields at one time . there was at tagga end a campsite . but the old king didnt renew the leases on the land . many of the local farmers just thought their father etc had owned the land . in the late 1990,s they started kicking the farmers off the land . the campsite lost its use . bulldozers came in and knocked houses ,hotels etc down .
i can remember there being over 4,000 vans there in the early 2000.
yet back in the 70,s there was maybe 50 vans . mainly surfers , .
we used to camp out at anka point or by devils rock at banana village .
soon be time for the killer whales to be passing at killer point . a bit further north than tagga .

for those going further south dont miss tarfaya . park by the beach near the antoine de st exupery museam . he used to fly the first french airmail to the states from there . i,m sure they will open it for you its really interesting .
have fun . there,s lots to be had in the magrebi .
inshallah .

Too many of the locals make their only living of tag beach it won't be long before someone comes up with a alternative
Not just guardians where else can you get art work solar panels body work repairs you name they will do it or know someone that will do it
They have to find a alternative or find a proper job
Pleased to say we actually did it and hope to go back again next year but as they say in moroc. God willing
Inshallah (y)

where else ?....Right opposite 'Atlantic Park' on the N1 we saw two MH's being repaired there, + Welding and Electrics and on the actual site of AP there are two independent upholsterers who will change your interior to your spec' + Sat Dishes for sale and hire:D:D:D

lots of places around tagga . have used the garage below the surf shop in tamracht .or just before the bridge going into banana village . tell them alibaba with the white artic truck sent you.
there are loads further back in banana . or get off to ait melloul , thats transport city for agadir . almost every shop is a garage , or machine shop.
for spares use ahmed route imouzzer on the road through banana just before you branch on the right fork for imouzzer.
all of what was asked is happening all over morocco on a daily basis .
in Erfoud use nordine . by the fossil yard down by the river. great chap good mechanic .
there are lots to choose from .
i remember one of the solar lads when he was selling lemons as a kid . i still call him lemon boy .

Landed at Tafraoute. Great to be back.
Good run fron agadir. All set up now. Just finished some dinde sausages and egg for lunch. Wine poured. 22°
Perfick.

Have just spoken to the solar man from tag, he said the owner of Atlantic park wanted it cleared. Reckoned another week, and it will be available again.

@vwalan or anyone else - any idea where to buy a camping table in Agadir? We have had a little accident with ours.

its hard to buy new camping things as they dont use our style of things .
but i,m sure it can be mended . many have had memory water loss folk fall on to them and got them fixed .
favouite one is angle iron being made to fit folding chair handles . they dont like the hot sun and break easily .

 Well we lost count after 879 MH on the TAG site alone + the French dumping their shit where they like and most MH's dirty water being drained everywhere, great place for the children to run around!! perhaps the Moroccan authorities felt this and the other 'dirt plains' could become a health risk, I cant believe for instance that Brits wouldn't go to the New Forest wild camping sites and behave like this or would they???:sick:

We did think of getting a tray from Majane and bolting it on, I think we can manage this ourselves. Mind you would probably be cheaper to get it fixed locally. I will ask the questions.

Yes Brain, guilty as charged. We left the brain cell at home that would have told us not to put the very low double burner camping stove on a plastic table.

anything even a plastic cutting board .
they make good hidey covers on kitchen work tops .
could look like its meant to be there.
ideal for being silly with . ha ha . you arent the first . wont be the last.
or wooden cutting board .

Just back from a great 4 x 4 day around Tafroute. Morocco is indeed beautiful. Too tired to put pictures on and suspect data about gone after last nights Rugby match. Will have a go tomorrow, perhaps.

Been a quiet day here in the desert. We got an hour or so on the loungers by the pool before lunch.
Lunch was a hubcap sandwich with bacon, black pudding and lashings of HP sauce! Yum Yum
It got quite cold after lunch so Gwen watched a movie while I listened to the Sunderland Swansea match commentary on Radio Newcastle.
Found a bag of Pork scratchings which Just had to be eaten.

Makems,How did you get match commentary on Radio Newcastle? when Sue tried to get Radio Norfolk it wont let us listen to the match. All the stuff before and after but not the match.--------Martin & Sue(y)

Ah....
I am a registered member on the Sunderland AFC website and registered members can listen to the match commentary from a link on that site.
If I try to listen to Radio Newcastle direct it won't let me as I am outside of the UK and the BBCs license with the Premiership is limited to the UK.
I can only assume that Premiership clubs have different rights.
Maybe try the club's website - it might have similar facilities.

Interesting things that have happened to me in the last 24 hours -

No 1. Yesterday at the Fantasia, whilst being escorted to the ladies with the lovely Mrs
Dabhand by and very nice young man, he asked us if we had finished our University studies, well you can imagine how delighted we were with that comment!

No 2. This morning whilst walking the dog ( about 8:30am) a young man asked me if I wanted sex!!!!!!!!!!! Did I hear right? Thinking the language thing was causing a miss-understanding I double checked what he was asking, before resisting the temptation to clip him around the ear and leg it back to the van.

Morocco, full of surprises.

its possible to get right up to the blue rocks ,even in a m,home . they are enormous .
they got repainted a few years ago. shame they used the wrong colours . we normally stay a bit away overlooking most of them .by a rock that loks like a rat.
but nice pics . i can feel the sand and smell the desert .
mind i can play with sahara sand now it takes years to get it out your camper .ha ha .

OK ! Heads up on the 4 x 4 trip. If your into stunning vista then I would recommend you to go. The driver speaks a little English but his job is to get you from a to b in a safe manner and he is good at his job, so do not expect a running commentary about the history of the areas you visit as you will not get one. The tour lasted for most of the day, we set off at 09.00 and returned around 17.00 The was an add on for the German family with us who wanted to see some rock carving/paintings otherwise we would of been back around 15.30. The add on is not worth doing I.M.O. We started off by visiting the 'blue rocks' (I think an artist was here and started smoking some good quality Pot, woke up on the 5th day with no paint left and a sore head). we then drove through some nice countryside to our first Gorge were we dismounted and walked for about 15-20 minutes on the road (easy - peasy) Absolutely mind blowing scenery. Onto old Beber village (head constantly turning now trying to take in scenery, all around us) and then stop for lunch. Bang on. A Moroccan omelette (yum) bread, olives, fruit, tea, and water. More Gorges, more mind blowing scenery with a couple of very short stroll's along the route and then onto our last stop for photographs of that vista in my previous post. I could go on but
will stop here. If you have not done this before, I would recommend you do it.
A couple more photo's with the best ones kept. We do not want to spoil anybody's trip. We used ERG Tours.
