Well Greece might be prettier in spring but its sure busier.

I left kotronas this morning quite early , we continued down the coast to the mani ...which was surprisingly dead, not a camper to be seen but also no life and no phone signal so we had a wee walk at one point then continued up the other coast . Unfortunately that's when it did get busy and sadly the police now enforce the no overnight at a lot of spots which makes the ones that they don't enforce really busy ... we stopped near limini for a swim and some lunch ... when I stopped there was one other van , next thing I knew there were 12 ...so after lunch we moved on. Agios andreas ( no overnight ) , stoupa ( no overnight ) ...so I ended up in kardymili...and couldn't get my usual sneaky spot as the restaurant is now open and kardymili is absolutely heaving with tourists, I'd never thought it possible for this sleepy wee village I love to be so ruined in spring lol . But not wanting to drive any further we are parked up on the old river bed ....I had a space on my own up the back away from the other 8 campers but a Dutch van couldn't see green cheese so he's squeezed in front of me ....

It's really feckin warm lol .. I've every window and rooflight open trying to keep cool .

Only a few pics from today

I was wondering about it being Tam's summer abode ... might have been a mistake showing it to him!
He would only want to cover it all with solar panels and spoil my views!

Dogs are a BIG hit but one very loud perfumed lady just anounced , oh my lordy, so many puppies, are you the local dog walker or just a little crazy.

I said in my best Sean connery acent , definitely the latter , but it's alright its not catching 😁🤣.

I then got oh you're from scatland, my great aunt on my mother's side was scattish. I said really ....you're not my cousin Elizabeth are you , she lives in New York.

I don't think she got it

Americans and Irony? - just don’t go together!
Its hilarious that some of them think Scotland is so small that everyone knows everyone else ...like the whole country is a small village 🤣🤣

But that said it has to be said they were the friendliest bunch of people I've met in a very long time , and they were all making a big fuss of the dogs. Even though milo barked the whole time

Tam you have a fair bit of solar knowledge along with the guidance of Uncle Lenny, so can you tell me what size of solar panel I would need for a 150ah lithium battery (bear in mind I only have a wee panel van roof! Lol) it's mainly for the compressor fridge and charging phones if I go for longer off grid parking

I'm not actually sure Paul, I think the general thought is to fit as big a panel you can In the space you have. I fitted 2x 200 watt panels on this van which is way more than I need for my single 105ah battery. But it does mean it charges quicker.

It's not 8am yet here but my battery is nearly full again already . ...and its cloudy

Thats great thank you, so basically as much as i can fit up there, I think I could only feasibly fit 1 large panel but I've seen single panels at 350w surely that would do me for a 150 battery... 🤔
I don't know I'm lost when it comes to all this solar & lithium stuff lol

Yeah you get single 350watt panels .. if it fits then I'd imagine that would sort it. Have you a b2b on your van

Oh no, we started going there 20 yrs ago, lovely we village and the best food at laylas, our motorhome goes to its new owner today and we were discussing what to do for a hol this summer, Kardymily was on the hit list but i feel it’s possibly changed so much we’ll be disappointed, and there’s just something about American accents that make us want to run a mile 🥲
It’s been 15 years since we last visited and you could see a lot of the run down places being bought be the German/Dutch for restoration and getting a bit of a swanky edge to it

Maybe Uncle Lenny will pop his head in later and put me right 🙂
Yeah Lenny HB would know better than me , but you'd not go far wrong with a 350watt panel if you can fit it on there. Your fridge will be your biggest power drain . I'm not clued up on the newer vans so yours might well have a good 12v charging pack on it as standard anyway.

But when lenny gets put of bed ( about noon ) I'm sure he'll know

Yes I was surprised just how busy it was ...I definitely prefer it in winter time.

We left kardymili around lunchtime , quick stop on route for some fresh bread and a frappe and we headed on to kalamata, I hadn't really planned to stay here overnight as its no bonny , but while I was on the phone to uncle lenny another motorhome turned up and I noticed it had Scottish plates... the couple are on here but are read only members and not very active but have been following my thread. Dave and gillian from scone near Perth... so we had a good blether last night drinking daves beer as I didn't have any 🤣, they're heading east so I've given them a few tips on nice places they'll come to . I'll be heading just along the road a bit to messini where I can hopefully get a park up right on the beach for a few days as I'm moving too quickly really. I still have 5 weeks and a few days before my ferry back to Italy. I did want a few things from the China mall here but typically its closed on Sundays so I might have to come back in a couple of days.
