MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Be careful with the bath stuff. 16 years ago when my pup was new to me he stank as he came from a puppy farm. The first thing we did was give him a bath, big mistake. He was afraid of water for the rest of his life and would cower in the corner if we tried to get him upstairs. It took a long time to convince him that he could come upstairs to just sleep on the bed but whenever we went to the bathroom he panicked we were running the bath for him and would dart downstairs.
Yeah I know.. Jade and milo don't like baths either . But milo fortunately still likes water. I put jade of swimming I think when I first got her. I didn't know any better and I put her in the sea a few times. Learned from that so I just let the others explore it themselves.

But they've all learned if they roll in something then they need bathed so there's a lesson in there for them.

The pup will need a bath of some sorts as the fishy smell is still lingering

Looking at the contents of her stomach tells that she scavenged so no human input into her feeding tells me she was a stray.
Yep no one was feeding her any proper food by the look of it.

And she's had the unfortunate luck of being born over winter time too where that wee village was mostly closed and empty. There was only one bar/tavern open and one wee mini market ,everything else closed for the winter.

Another accident free night. She slept right through to 7.30 . Took them all out and pee and poo straight away. I soaked her breakfast overnight so it was a bit stodgy in the hope it would slow her down which it did a little bit but not enough so I'm going back to hand feeding her breakfast from tomorrow.

She's learning to come out the van down the step but is struggling to work out going in . But getting there .

Going for a wee walk now before the vet opens.

wow, she's doing so well bless her heart..
fingers crossed all goes well at the vets..
can't help wondering though how big she will be when she grows into those huge paws and bones..
she will be impressive and so beautiful..

.

As I said before in an earlier post young Blu has hit the jackpot having such a caring person as Tam for her owner . If I lived abroad I would end up with many dogs ! At home I have just the one but he rules the house !

I'm hoping the mother was a good indication, of all the other strays there none were much bigger than mum so if one of those was dad then theoretically she shouldn't be bigger than any of those . But will find out in time I guess.

Not a full breed greek shepherd but I think she's a cross with one.

But I think she will be a beautiful dog .. her mum was lovely and so sweet natured. I'd love to have found her a home but 5 dogs would be complete chaos.

At the vets now, vaccines and passport all done . And the vet has adjusted dates for me so I can travel . Effectively I have 2 documents one with the true dates etc so the next vet can give next vaccinations and the passport with slightly adjusted dates.

My guess was near enough ,vet says 14 weeks old , has given a birthday of October 1st so just a few days after mum died.

The added bonus , I told the vet about the other strays and the mum at korfos. She phoned a local charity while I was there and they spoke to me and took details . I've whatsapped photos of the other strays and the mum and they're going to send someone to see them . They will sterilise the females including the one I saw mating. Apparently they have tablets to terminate pregnancy.

Who knew

So hopefully I've helped the others too

So we are now parked up on the peninsula at loutraki,

The vet for those interested.

She did the chip , passport, dhppi, rabies , tablets for worms , other tablets for fleas and tics. Total cost was €111 which is good I think .

She put the date of rabies Jab at 3rd January because you need 21 days before you're meant to travel so just incase anyone looks at Turkish border. She needs another vaccine between the 5th and 12th February.

She was good as gold at the vets . Vet says she's in good health everyone looks good.

I then went to the pet shop for puppy food , jeeso lol 2.5kg of puppy food was €18 . I'm hoping I can find some in a supermarket.

I got a slow feeder bowl €8 , some puppy specific treats €5 some gravy bones for the others €7 and a new orange collar for ela €7

So thats me I'm now skint lol.

Blew the feckin turbo hose of the camper climbing a hill so had to pull in to sort that. I only tightened it up with a screwdriver when I replaced the fan belt which must have tightened it enough. 7mm spanner sorted it out

And filled up with diesel. €55

But that's it all sorted now till next month .

I'm getting cuddled like mad by blu at the minute so I think she's grateful ☺️

We been there late April last year, zoom in the photo and notice the yellow set up: that’s where they launch fromView attachment 854794
I was there in Jan 68. Never saw a bridge. Just watched a ship navigate through. It was something worth watching. I was in dry dock with a BP Tanker and we went on a coach trip to Mycaenae? And Corinth.

Rather a long time ago

The vet thinks the Same size as her mother so that's not too bad . Large dog but not xl . Ela is 22.5kg at the minute
Ela doesn't look that heavy compared to my daughters Springer who is 14kg, & she is not a lot smaller than Ela.

I think ela maybe slightly overweight I'd be happier with her at 20kg but will see what she's at on her next weigh in.

You just watch that pup once she is free of bugs & pests & got good food going thru her system. She won’t be the quiet docile pup you started with!
Yeah I think that myself . That's why I've learned from past mistakes and I'll be getting the recall and lead training in while she's young.

Brilliant news Tam she is lovely.
I reckon dogs talk and Ella, milo and Jade told her mum that you were her best chance 🥰
