I just had a bloomin cricket fly in my window that was nearly as big as milo .... unbelievable the sizes of some of the bugs here at this time of year. Never saw anything like these in the winter time. You've never seen dogs all run in the back of a van quicker in your life šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

ā€œI once sailed into wind on the genoa alone in a force 5 and made progress over the ground.ā€

Did your boat have wheels then?

Tut, Tut, Tut. Weak joke, especially coming from a pilot who knows the difference between airspeed and groundspeed, same in the water - 'speed through the water' or 'over the ground'

[Well you got one laugh - from the member who thinks 'sails look like too much hard work' - how many takeaways would he have to deliver to afford an hour's diesel in his chosen powerboat, never mind the cocktails for all the bimbos']

Anyway I dinnae need to worry about fuelling one as its purely hypothetical, I've not that great sea legs and it's dogs I have no ducks ....so the chances of me ever buying a boat other than a longboat/barge on a canal is next to zero.

I just think they look nice .

The website said only 2 crossings 11.30 and 3pm . This wee town is just all boats and restaurants nowt else

A rich friend of mine once said ā€œ if ever you think you have too much money then buy a boat ā€œā€¦..šŸ¤£
I think that's why most never leave the harbour. They're just to sunbathe on and hope you impress folk walking past šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

We were in Marbella admiring all the boats in the marina when got chatting to a British owner who informed us that 75% of boats never leave the harbour. Mostly used for rental accommodation or parties.

I will bet your heating in your house isn't set to 24Ā° at night
Wish I could afford it lol, central heating nowadays , too cold, in previous houses with log burners they created some proper heat, burned pressed coal too, even more heat as logs, missing them a lotšŸ‘

I had a small pot-belly stove in an equally small canal boat. 24 degrees after 5 minutes, and I had to get off the boat :)
