MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Absolutely shitty weather today , rain started around 7.30am and its not stopped since .. so what to do on a rainy day but go wine tasting ...Georgia is a wine country and there are winery 🍷 everywhere. But the wine is usually expensive ..here was no different. 12 euros a bottle roughly .

But they also did food so we had lunch and a bottle with that .

By heck Tam you need a shave ... and a kilt to cover your privates! 😱😆

He's enjoying having some human company around for a bit
Probably why he has a massive teddy bear in his MH...it must give good cuddles. 😃

No that's why I have 4 dogs ... they cuddle the Teddy
Knowing what our Minky used to get up to with her elephant puppet ... are you sure they are just cuddling it! 😄

When georgia was part of the soviet Union (USSR) the state guaranteed its workers the right to rest, as a result more than 180 health spa's were built, where the working class could re-energise on a two week state funded vacation. Tskaltubo was one of those Spa resorts on the so called Russian riviera. Construction on its 22 sanatorium began in the 1920's and by 1980 4 trains per day brought 1500 visitors daily 100,000 annually from Moscow to bathe in the radon carbonate springs that in essence could cure anything from eczema to infertility. Stalin himself chose tskaltubo as his holiday destination and favoured bathhouse number 5. After the breakup of the ussr the sanatoriums were forcefully abandoned and as such fell in to disrepair , since 1993 many were used to house 9000 refugees from Abkhazia, this was meant as a temporary measure but to this day there are still some refugees living among the derelict buildings. Some have now been bought by developers and may well open again as hotels . I visited only 3 on my look around....I chose ones with no habitants .

I had very little idea about Georgian history and Stalin till I read The Eighth Life by Nino Haratischvili. It’s a book which stays with you. Are there gradations of evil? If so, Stalin was at the extreme end.

I don’t think the sanatoriums were accessible to all Russians but for those more equal than others, often particular state institutions. The one I happened to stay at was for the use of the Moscow branch of the KGB! One of life’s experiences I don’t wish to repeat!

I couldn't think of one benefit to be honest.
Without the communist state there would have been no oligarchs and Chelsea would not have won anything 😂
