You’re right, I have now done a Google Lens of the photo and it comes up as Green Platan Club Hotel, Marmaris. Doesn’t seem as interesting as other place though with latest reviews of 11 years ago as being very poor as smelly dilapidated hotel.

That's different. It's the pine processionary in Europe which are everywhere and a big problem and that's the one we really don't want to see spreading south into UK.
But I believe the hairs still dangerous

Yes but they are pretty uncommon. The problem with the pine ones is when they come they can infest massive areas with thousands of nests in pine plantations because they are monoculture so spread from tree to tree very quickly. I've been walking through an area of them and you see thousands of caterpillars all over the paths and roads so really easy for a dog to accidentally come into contact. If they got into our forestry commission plantations with the volume of people and animals in the UK it would be a big problem.

I've not seen any on the ground here yet ...but lots in the trees .

They seem to like the areas where the climate is mixed ...see them in a lot of the colder places

Last nights overnight stop was near the beach at oludeniz. Famous beach and popular with paragliders who throw themselves off the nearby mountain and land at the beach .

Moved on this morning....we went in search of that canyon and a water fall. Unfortunately due to recent bad weather both were innnaccesible ,the canyon was closed and the waterfall required getting very wet and muddy to reach it ....which i wasnt keen on. Probably something more enjoyable in warmer months , just now it just looks run down and a swampy mess....dogs had a blast though and we met more strays ...think this is a little family ..mum is the one with the ear clip . ...they followed us back to.the camper so stayed for lunch . ..lots of cute little dogs here. Most strays everywhere else seem to be big dogs ..lots of small ones here but all healthy looking. I've not really seen any that's looked in bad shape.. which is great.

After lunch I followed the river south and were parked overnight near the ancient city of xanthos. Loads more strays here too , so they've been for some dinner. I think 3 of them are sleeping under the van ...

Stayed in Olu Deniz about 20 years ago. Loved it, but not been back since. May need to check prices again for later this year.
When we were there. a female tourist was doing a tandem paraglide when she fell out of the harness.

How do you prep those fish Tam? They look like they'd be damn tasty.
Well the seller descales them and guts them already so I just stuck a bit butter inside and baked in the oven for 30 minutes .. I added some lemon juice salt n pepper to mine after it was cooked. Don't like putting anything else in/on it before cooking if giving the dogs some as they can't have some stuff. But it's really tasty fish anyway so doesn't need anything more really .

I paid £8 for the 2 of those and there's a lot of eating in them. The other ones in the freezer

Do you think the strays have social media - so they're alerted... Tam's on his way, free dinner!
Honestly it's very rare you find a parkup in Turkey that doesn't have at least one stray ....they always appear.

Walked up that canyon one summer, judging by the large trees that were jammed in the bends it’s not a place to be in winter rains .
Also where the river exits the canyon we got in what was basically a truck inner tube and drifted down steam, then got picked up and returned.
Bit of a laugh 😆

A lot of those dogs look a bit corgi

The downside of many street dogs is when they camp outside your van ... just took mine out for their last pees for the night and it was a riot. Pitch dark out there and suddenly I have 7 or 8 street dogs around barking and jumping on me ... a few of them are quite big too. And while they are friendly towards me like the one we met a few weeks ago they behave like they're claiming you and then get aggressive... so my own dogs can't get near me or the van .. so in the end I've got to try chasing the strays off while getting my own dogs back in to the camper ...

It's a shame as in daylight it's a lot easier and my dogs generally get on well with the strays we meet . But when it's dark and hard to see it can feel quite intimidating and I will always protect my own pack over a stray ...

All back in and it's quiet again now but I'm not sure mine got a chance to.do the toilet before I had to herd them back in so I'm hoping they can hold it till morning.

Already done it in his birthday thread
I have a birthday thread?

News to me lol. I haven't seen it and get no notifications of it.

Probably in a part of the forum I can't access lol.
