MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Aye my brother works as a home delivery driver for asda and his daughter is his boss , so it's an option of sorts

The problem with this type of work is I'm not sure how flexible they would be with me working 6 months of the year ... there are seasonal jobs but with delivery work those tend to be over winter Christmas time which is when I prefer to be abroad. Campsite work etc tends to be more spring till autumn which is more suited.

They also use agency driver for sickness/holiday cover: I have worked for ASDA, Travis Perkins and other building and plumbing merchants, delivering to local building sites, so quite local short trips and they do need C1 drivers for large timber loads and pallets.

When you get back just go into agencies and chat to them to see if you fit into their client operations. Mature guy, with right clean licence who can be relied on to turn up on time and keep to the delivery schedule is a gift for them. They might bite your arm off. I always got a job when I said I was available, and when there was the odd client who was difficult to work for I said 'not again' and that did not jeopardise future work.

Wherever you decide to settle, if you want work you could sign up with the local driving agencies, especially as I presume you have C1 licence, which is useful to them because not many younger drivers have it.

I did it for several years as a retirement job. I just told them when I would be available. If I went off travelling it did not seem to matter as I soon got work when I got back. Some of the clients used to phone me direct to find if I was available, before they phoned the agency to book me.

With the minimum wage going up it could be quite a good move.

I will be here to help when you come back. Should be able to do anything you need as my tools will all be in front of us. How's the repairs holding up that we did. They should be permanent without any leaks after all the effort you put in.

Yeah no leaks anywhere now thankfully . Everything I did previously has held up even in the most aggressive weather.

The rear wall in the bathroom still needs the wood replaced as I never got around to it.. but I'd also like to clad the entire bathroom with pvc wet panels . And the floor over the rear wheels is spongy so I need to find a way to fix that but once that's all done the interior will be perfect.

Not hard jobs to do really just easier with assistance and the right tools.

Might have to return to morroco next winter to sort out the paintwork and have all the underside cleaned and painted.

Aye I know ...like I said I'm not in a bad position, I've no debts , I own my own home , I've savings and my health and I've 4 furry companions ... life's not that bad really.

Just sometimes miss some company.

Anyway I will survive ..

I'm still planning to come visit you when I'm back in the UK if you're up for assisting me with sorting out my van bathroom and floor. 😁 . Your carpentry skills far exceed mine
Stop off in Brighton if you you fancy it. Good walks for the dogs near ours and we know the best pubs.

Moved on from fethiye this morning after a quick supermarket stop and refuelling fuel and lpg , there weren't many pics taken of fethiye .. didn't really go in to the main town etc. We did swing past to look at another rock tomb but wasn't as well preserved as the ones at dalyan.

We visited a very strange place today

The now ghost town of kayakoy can be traced back to the 14th century but it thrived right up to the early 1900s .... in 1923 after the Greco-Turkish war it was forcefully abandoned when a population exchange meant that its Greek orthodox population were exchanged with the Muslims living in Greece so that each country could claim one major religion in the path towards ethnic and national homogeneity... crazy times. Its one of the largest abandoned villages in the world... there's literally hundreds of buildings. Most are completely derelict. The old church that takes pride of place high on a hill is undergoing restoration. The town was used in Russel crows movie "the water diviner" its a very strange place..

Oh I always love strange places. Climbing over the wall to get in the church was fun lol .. they have it all sealed up outside
In another life, I suspect you'd be one of those subterranean bunker explorer dudes

or exploring derelict shopping malls

The drone photos are looking a little washed out
Have you changed a setting or removed a filter or something ?
Dalyan seemed ok but Kaunos looked a bit washed out too from the drone
Hope you don't mind me saying, but we have come to expect high quality photography content
Could of course just be the lighting

I think it's when it's sunny . Which is a pain

Are you seeing and signs of the processionary caterpillars around?
We are seeing a lot at the moment in Portugal, which is concerning for our young dogs.
Just watched a you tube on them and they are up to Paris now.
Hope the channel keeps them from our shores!

Yeah they are everywhere, same in Greece but there's thousands of nests in the trees here.
