MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Those who are having problem following the thread should start another thread about the problems, far too many posts on he disrupting the thread.
Agree but why is all this talk about following anyway, I don't follow anything as far as I know but still don't miss anything, just go to what's new and they are all there.

I like having alert emails so I don't have to remember and then have the faff of looking for the ones I want too follow.
Is this the same for posts we've started too?
Promise once I get an answer I understand this will be the last post on the subject.
Honest!!

Honest!!

please read this from jim..

there will be no more email alerts from any thread..
time to get used to clicking on whats new at the top of the page and scrolling a bit to find what you want .. :)
it's easy enough to do..

now can we get on and have tams and the pups adventures posts please..

I just had to rescue this poor thing from the side of the road. Someone had claimed him to a fence and to make sure he wasn't getting free they had riveted the leather collar on after the buckle so I couldn't just take the collar off him. They had the chain so tight he could hardly move and they had that twisted tight with fence wire too. They had made sure you weren't freeing him without tools. Fortunately I have plenty so with pliers and a hacksaw I got him loose. I wanted to give him some food and water once I'd Freed him and I'd have liked to get that collar off him but he was so scared the poor thing he ran off. No idea how long he had been there. It was outside a sort of shipyard . There were 2 guys walked out and got in a car as I was freeing him , I asked how long he'd been there but they just shrugged and got in the car and left. It definitely wasn't a case of someone having just tied him there for a few minutes etc .. he was chained and wired so he couldn't get away.

Place was in the middle of nowhere ...nothing else but the shipyard for miles .

Good for you - but be careful of your own safety. I'm sure you are

You know I keep well away from these dog things but I have to say he looks very healthy and no muck and stuff around him, I would have thought you ought to have at least found out whose it was before just letting it go to be another stray.

What do you suggest I did Charlie? Take out an add in the local Turkish paper? That wasn't a dog out for a walk and tied up while the owner nipped in to a shop or something. That was abandoned . No thought given for its welfare whatsoever. It will do better as a stray than left chained to that fence with no water or food etc. As I said the collar had been buckled then riveted on .. the chain was threaded through the collar then tied together with thick fence wire ...again that wasn't done by fingers that needed pliers to tighten it like it was. I struggled to get the wire off with pliers and had to cut it in the end. That dog had been taken there and dumped for whatever reason . If it has an owner it respects it will go find him . If it doesn't then it's free and can at least now get water and food.

So we left the beach near bodrum this morning, I followed the coast road from there back to the start of the dacia peninsula and down to marmaris, I couldn't find anywhere decent to park up at marmaris for a look so I stopped at icmeler beach and had a walk along with the dogs.... nothing special so we didn't stay .

Aye I could see the sandbank going across but weather a bit cooler and duller here. It's also deserted or should I say it was. Now it's night time all the local boy racers are out tearing up and down the road in auld wrecks lol.

No set plan really ... follow the coast towards Syria till the weather warms up ...then do inland a bit cappadocia etc.. might go up to Georgia then head back towards Bulgaria. Just go with the flow really.

Moved again today to bozburan...had a Turkish coffee and lemon cake in one of the wee cafe restaurants.

Not a lot happening in town

Rudely woken this morning by blu trying to jump in to bed for a cuddle and scratched my nose in the process. You can see the difference in size of her now , when I got her she was the same size as jade... she's now a fair bit bigger

Tam has 'pulled!

That is the good news ......

........but it also makes him a paedophile.

Blu's gonna need a bigger bed unless you can convince her to curl up
She curls up sometimes other times she just likes to stretch out. There's only 2 beds , more times than not they lie in other places and the beds are empty.

Out for our morning walk there and was chatting to 5 jandarmes for a while as they were all making a fuss of the dogs , had one of them trying to buy ela lol. He started at 5000tl but was at 10000tl when I left 🤣 . Its strange how in the countries with the most strays the men seem to want to buy peoples dogs . I had it a few times in Morocco and I've had someone trying to buy milo here already and now ela.

Cappadocia is well worth a visit but I’d definitely leave it as late in your tour as you can as it will be flippin cold at the moment. I don’t expect you’ll do the balloon ride because of cost and although it’s an hour it actually takes a few hours because of all the palaver around it and you couldn’t leave the dogs. The walking is incredible and you will still see some incredible views.
