I just can't get my head round these furniture firms , how many sofas are they going to deliver before Xmas , all the adverts on the tv say delivery before Xmas , if they couldn't deliver mine before next week they would be keeping it. Not as I'm thinking of ever buying another.

@old-mo whatever happened about the 'uplift' clause the sellers wanted to tie you up with? Did you get it removed? Just being nosy!

Wooden sheds seem to be the in thing at the moment , two gone up near us this year , one even has a tiled roof.

You could have had a couple of buildings up in 6 hours
https://newatlas.com/madi/52139/
They're great (said in a 'Tony the Tiger' voice! :D) ... I'm gonna send the info on to the chap who owns the park where our lodges are as he's in the process of building more ... might be worth him investigating them further!(y)

We ordered ours before all this "Get it for Xmas" stuff started, but told them we did not want it till mid December due to what was going on here with all the work.....

That was all knocked on the head, otherwise we would have walked away.... so door is now open to apply for Planning to build 15 luxury houses on the field..

No point in spending an extra £10 - £15 K on brick built sheds/stores/garage... Not at my age anyway... The only ones who would benefit are the Grandkids...:giggler:

Completely finished our Lounge & Spare bedroom... (couple of photo`s of the lounge...

Spare bedroom, although I say it myself looks lovely.... be glad when they (the builders) have finished ours so I can get on with that one..

Got some lights up ready for the weekend switch on, which is this Saturday.... Must say them that I have seen look fabulous, going to put our`s to shame... but next year we will have more time.. :xsmile:

Garage/Workshop & Tractor/Impliment shed should be finished this week. Then I can start putting up Workbenches and storage shelves..

Anyway, all coming along nicely, and hope to have the new driveway down by Xmas.... then few week`s after Xmas my CAT digger should be going across country on another project.. :xThumb: (No..... Not going to Portugal, like some one hopes.. :tounge: :xgrin:)

After that it will end up for sale, So if you want a superb Caterpillar 3.1/2 ton digger.... watch the classified adds on "Fun"... this is it =

Anyway.... Photo`s =

As the lounge looked when we bought the place.. (Not our furniture, the previous owners.. :xsurprised:)

As it looks now with all new furniture, carpet, Log Burner, & a few Xmas decorations.. :xdoh:

Couple more =

Treated Judy to an Electric Chair... but that`s not the one I was thinking of.. :xwink: (I asked her.... why not put it in the middle of the room in front of the fire... :xdoh::xangry:)
P1100094 (600 x 450).jpg

Tiny rooms after our last abode, but tis cosy... and at the end of the day, as Judy keeps saying... there are only the two of us and the dog to think about now.. :xsad:
P1100095 (600 x 450).jpg

And one of "Daisy" in her favourite spot...
P1100092 (600 x 450).jpg

Will put some more on of the garage etc in a few day`s.... The builders work cannot be faulted... They have done what would have taken me till the end of next summer.. x:-)

Looking good Mo and Daisy looks very much at home in her favourite spot:xsmile: I see she is a fan of countdown:xsmile:

You're doing a great job Bro , the place is looking tops. Not sure you'll have time to put your feet up over Christmas though :xgrin:

Well it`s this =

P1100100 (600 x 398).jpg

Carved by an old friend, all out of one piece of wood..

The attention to detail, feathers and the like on the Eagle is fantastic, but does not show on the photo...

Bit more time should of been spent on the babies, which look more like a couple of Pigeon`s..:xdoh: and it weighs a ton, not sure what wood it is though.. :xThumb:

Well done Mo your doing a great job even though the weather is bloody freezing out there!
Its killing me, so got to ask, how much is a ton of ready mixed concrete these days, last batch I bought was when I lived at home with my mum a long long time ago, and that was £350 for a 6 yard (10 ton) load then! I will prepare myself for a shock when you tell me how much it costs today, no doubt.

Keep up the good work.

Right let`s get it right.... This time I am only doing the little job`s..

I have got a contractor to do the mainstay of the work on the building side of things...

Don`t want people to think I am clever...

Regarding your question on how much is Ready Mix Concrete..

Firstly I always use the term "Ton/s"... in actual fact it is in square mtrs...

The last time I ordered some was about a year ago, and that was for a slab 32ft X 14ft X approx 5 inches thick.... and what ever that is in mtrs cost £480 mixed and delivered... :xThumb:

Afraid being a bit thick on numbers you will have to work it out, sorry..

@ianthebuilder (Ian) Might have a better idea at the costings than me... :xThumb:

Works out around 6 cube,£480 is a good price around this way a volumatic mixer truck that will mix it to the nearest bucket load is about £110 a cubic meter.
I recently had 10t of ballast delivered and a pallet load of cement to mix myself and it wasn’t much cheaper than having ready mix delivered.

Where’s the automatic motorhome wash going to be sited ? :xangry: :xgrin: :xThumb:

Not a lot going on since we were dumped on big time with this snow.... :xangry:

Only got one worker doing his bit on the new En-Suite, cos there is not enough room for any more to work in the small space. :xsad:

No work on the outside driveway/hard standing and concrete ramps into the garages,, cos they cannot see what to dig out cos of the snow... :xblush:

So doubt they will finish there work before Xmas now... :xsad:

Bit of an update and a few photo`s...

Having to rethink for the moment the "Hard Standings".... the field is like a bog.... not a very well draining one like the other one in Dorset..
Not draining very well at all... puddles every where... :xangry:

Going to take some serious sunshine to dry it out to let any vehicle on, let alone a few ton of Motorhome... and to try and put hard standings in at the moment is a no, no..

So......... Have extended & widened the drive way and made what was going to be the car park for any horse boxes etc who rented the field to park... Which is not going to happen now.. a whole lot bigger.. :xThumb:

So for any wanting to stay... if you cannot get on the field, (Due to water logging.) there is a large Hard Standing.. and driveway..

By the end of this week, the En-suite & outside WC/washroom should be finished.... so I can spend Xmas plastering and decorating our bedroom.. Then only the Hallway to plaster & decorate and Kitchen to gut and renew after I have designed a new one for Judy...

Few photo`s of the extended bit outside....

Tomorrow 80 ton`s of reddish shingle being dumped, then spread all over... just hope we have ordered enough to put 3 - 4 inches all over..

That`s it for a week or so.. :xThumb:

Concrete ramps in to the Garage/Workshop & Tractor Shed, laid yesterday..

Part of the Hard standing..

Extended and Widened...
IMG_20171217_100215 (600 x 450).jpg

Widened track up the side of the bungalow to the CL Field... with new Campers WC on the end of bungalow...
IMG_20171217_100222 (600 x 450).jpg

Got a few more hours to do yet, with 6 ton vibrating "Roller".... if I can get Judy off it... :xdoh: :xwink:
IMG_20171217_100234 (600 x 450).jpg

Main entrance, Gate 10ft wide, no problem getting in if you come in square on.. inside has been widened to 12 - 14ft..
IMG_20171217_100240 (600 x 450).jpg

Entrance from driveway into extended hard standing, 10ft between post`s..... might take one of the post`s down to make it a bit wider... for the likes of @SuperMike who would probably not be able to get his winnbaggot thing through a 10ft gap...:giggler::xwink::lips:
IMG_20171217_100258 (600 x 450).jpg

It will all look better after tomorrows delivery of topping...

Will give the CL`s hard standing`s and EHU`s a serious look at after the New Year... Might have to sell me body to pay for that... :hi5: :lips:

Think yourself lucky on the horse front, and imagine what your field would look like now if you had a dozen hooves threading it up, it would now be ruined.

Wow Mo what a change since we were there:xsurprised: You have made great progress , but look after yourself and don’t try and burn the candle at both ends ,we are none of us getting any younger:xdoh: But the place is a credit to you both, well done.:xThumb:
