Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

I have sold and fitted stoves for 30 years, I wouldn't even think of fitting one to a MH - the area is too small even in the largest MH - CO, particulates, proximity to combustible materials - all 'proper' stoves on general sale are too big for a MH - might seem to be 'a good idea' - it's not !! it's really dangerous !!
There are literally thousands of vans with woodstoves fitted. Several companies make them specifically for vans. Thats the type ill be fitting👍

I bow to your knowledge of stoves....

Sorry, as a 'professional' seller of stoves I sometimes take it too seriously (y)
Im not fitting a house size burner ...these small stoves are specifically designed for small spaces that's why they are more expensive than some of the larger ones. 👍

Hopefully a properly fitted and tested flue will not release CO inside

Not forgetting the CO released by an ill fitting door on the stove which might not matter in a house .... please yourselves....

Yes i thought that too. Until a contract was agreed for them to do the work they shouldn't have been pulling anything off it. Unnecessary as uou could see what it needed without doing that
They saw him coming big stile, I didn't see one of the vehicle's insulated so for a year round venture I think its a flop to `start with.
My thoughts are everything has been done within a production companies budget purely for audience numbers.

Ive only seen the first episode so far

My canal boat interior was just 6 metres by 2 metres, and was inspected regularly by the boat safety folk.

Having said that, I’m now aware of the CO risks. I borrowed a large gas space heater to use in my garage when I was building a plane. When I started getting headaches I bought a CO monitor and discovered why. I now have one in the plane as well as the moho.

If you had a woodburner going in a boat that size you would have to have the hatch open !! - and be sat in your underpants !!

Seriously Tam - it's a crap idea - unless you use your crap as fuel..... that works..... maybe

No as it will have a firewall either side of it
Loads of different types of 'tiny' wood burners here, not sure what's available in the UK though.

Now there's an idea ..... if its mixed with sawdust etc when initially 'deposited' he'd likely just have to 'clump' and burn it ... not sure what the 'odour' would be though ... :giggle:

Whilst i appreciate your input and your knowledge of fitting them in houses etc its different sizes of stoves than those that people fit in vans. There are at least 5 companies in the uk that make stoves especially for small spaces and they sell and install hundreds of them. Many full-time vanlifers have them and ive not heard of any yet thats deed or been poisoned etc. Im not fitting a botch job it will have a the correct flue s etc.

This was flogged to death last year when i first mentioned building a van and its one of my top 3 reasons for doing a self build. Im fed up being cold and deciding between warmth or entertainment. No woodburner id likely not build the van
