Mango toll tag black friday offer

Has anyone had a successful payment to Mango from a Starling euro account via direct debit please? If so did you have to inform your bank or did you just fill out the details on the Mango website?

I originally used my First Direct account iban which was accepted by their website but then failed when they tried to take the initial 1 euro. Just dont want to go through the effort of opening a Starling account only to find the same thing happening later:)

Yea I have had one Euro successfully debited from my starling Euro account! 👍🏻

I was surprised that First direct don’t support any non-uk Direct debits!

I’ll set up a Starling account now:). Btw Did you have to tell Starling or just fill in the info on the Mango website?

Same as any other transaction on my starling account, just set it up and they pay, you don’t need to inform them, that’s the whole point of an IBAN number. It’s a very decent app based bank and TBH, we had switched all our day to day spending over to it until I got the Chase account, with 1% cash back earlier in the year. I can’t hold a Euro balance in chase though.
 
I've had a euro taken by them, which possibly they may give back. Nothing else to indicate it's on its way however chance of getting away in next few weeks practically zero :(
 
Anyone had any problems getting their tag delivered? I guess it Royal Mail strike problems but less than three weeks and we are levellers up and away to Europe…

This is my tracking which seems to have stalled somewhat… 🤷‍♂️

if you don’t mind me asking how long from ordering to shipping?

I have had a shipping notice yet so just wondering on a time line
 
Saturday the 26th November I applied 👍🏻
Mine was 27th, no shipping email but have had on for the account setup.
I can log in to the site and see a tag is active and the 1 euro has been charged so all looks good that end

lets see if mr postie delivers anything soon
 
Mine took two weeks in August, small enough to go through the letterbox. A lot smaller than I imagine.

If you have the royal mail app you can enter the La poste tracking no.
Done
just waiting for delivery, mind getting it into go is the hard bit

As well as the 1 euro (credited back later). I have had two payments go through for toll use in Spain and Portugal from my Starling account with no further action from me.
I'd call it a Direct Debit but I think it is called a SEPA payment. Not all UK bank accounts can accommodate these. My Nationwide Flexaccount for example. Opened the Starling account and no problems.
 
Oh the irony, I started the thread so ordered mine first and according to the app it hasn’t left France yet!
Hi Carolyn, I also ordered the tag, thanks to your post. I'm currently waiting to take delivery of mine like you. I have the App, may I ask where you get the info regarding the status of the tag still being in France?

If you look at your original email confirmation you will see a tracking link,click on that and it takes you to tracking info. The tracking number also works on the Royal mail tracking app/ page.
 
I just had occasion to communicate with Mango via their mail contact page.
Within about 2 hours I received a full and thorough helpful reply.
Very impressed at this early stage.

On Sunday I attempted to get the widget via a Nationwide account. Mango said No.
So I then applied using a First Direct account. The Mango system accepted it but this morning I received an email from Mango to say they had attempted to remove the 1 Emu and FD said No.

I did enquire with FD and they confirmed that systems do not support foreign demands for money.
That's it then. Out of the Van when necessary and pay on demand.

I did like a number of others did in order to satisfy the banking aspect of this tag, as like you my accounts couldn't satisfy the accepted Mango methods of payment. I opened a Revolut account, and it worked fine. Only takes a few general Q&A's and then done.

Nothing too interesting.
I was experiencing a problem with my details not being accepted on the mobile App, but were being accepted on the web site.
The other question relating to delivery.

I received an email from Mango saying my bank (Starling) had refused payment and the device was no locked. No idea why as I used IBAN number on the original application. But it was simple enough to sort, just said pay by card which is what I have done.
🤞 It's not locked now.

They want the IBAN number and BIC code. It does appear to be the same for your Euro or Sterling account in the Revolut app. Didn’t actually realise that until after I’d done it all from the Euro screen of course!
 
I am sulking now, mine hasn’t left the French Post Office, I may soon have to break into the Christmas Hotel Chocolat. It only seems right. I will eat it in secret in the spare room as it’s wasted on Nick.
