LIFE AFTER HELGA !!!!

Good to see you back on here and know you are ok Ian.
I think your sleep pattern has been up the creek for most of the time you have been posting on here.
Maybe some time off now and over Xmas will give you a chance to get into a proper routine.
Enjoy your break, sounds like you don't have to worry about finding work after Xmas.
keep safe and be happy.
Val

Good to see you posting Ian
My sleep pattern was up the wall so I stayed up as late as I could and it seemed to work I now sleep from around 10.30 till 5ish
Mo’s job looks like a good start to the year if we don’t get a wet start to it

Good morning,,, I slept well, all be it interrupted a couple of times, but ok I suppose!

looks chilly out, but dry,, not going to do much today, perhaps watch the rugby on Amazon prime,,

I shall look online for a local Xmas tree farm, and give them, whoever, a look tomorrow, just for something to do!!
im looking forward to getting a real tree this year, never had a real one, but I don’t have anywhere to store one out of season, so I hope a real one will look good,, someone told me that a real one smells really nice? Any recommendations!

news,,, a couple of weeks ago I became ( wait for it)

A great grandad!! Baby,( Archie)and mum and dad all doing ok! But I now have a huge space in my living room for a Christmas tree due to the fact that I gave them my sofa and chair for their new flat!!
I bought a medium size recliner on Amazon, which is fine for me, but only have the table and two chairs for anyone else,,, I don’t get visitors partly due to the virus and partly due to me not letting anybody else in! Lolol.

I also have an mot due on the van in jan,, but I might get that done this month, because I’m off....

so a quiet weekend, then back to the job to pick up all tools I used,,, and purchased while working ( about £1200 worth).
It may take two trips but I’m also going to have to put my power tools in the hall, I don’t have a shed or any outside cupboards for storage,, mixer, scaffold, buckets, barrow etc can go outside under a sheet, but power tools I shall bring in,,,,

I’m also due my last inspection visit in dec/ jan for my permanent tenancy agreement, if all goes well ! I’ve had three now, all seem ok, and last one was just a phone call, due to COVID,maybe the last one will be too!! Fingers crossed!
Also, if I get that agreement, it means I can have a look on the swap property website, I can swap to anywhere the country apparently, also, with any council, housing association tenants,, not that I will, but it
will be interesting to look!!

ok, that’s it,,,, I shall chat later, have a good day,, Xxxxxx

A great grandad!

Wow, that's something special.

Congratulations. (y)

Ref Christmas tree, consider getting a small live one growing in a pot. Then put it out in your garden after the festivities, and with occasional watering it will be ready to come indoors again for Christmas next year - and a bit bigger. :giggle:

I’d think about getting a small storage unit for all your tools so many thieves about this time of year wanting to put presents under the tree they will take anything

I will babe,, I’ve been going to bed at about 8 pm, lol. And the rediculous thing is hammie, I’m up at 2,2/30 and I didn’t go to work till 6, By 4 in the afternoon I’m knackered! Lol. Must be age kicking in!!
Seriously though, my sleeping patterns are all over the place!! X
Sounds hellish! Exhausting too. There is a tea but I bet as a man you won’t try it 🤣🤣. Anyway just in case it is Dr Stuart’s Tranquility No 5. It doesnt make you dopey but they used to say no more than four a day. It doesn’t taste like a sewer

Nice you have settled in the flat Ian, how does it compare to Helga, are you missing her or any regrets.

I suppose it was a lot cheaper living in Helga.

Just thinking about your tools perhaps if you go on freecycle and freegle you might find something to store your tools for free? I got loads of stuff for my granddaughter to set up her first flat and all for free.

Hi Paul,, To be honest I do miss Helga, a bit,, and the freedom she allowed me!!

As for cost,, my weekly rent is similar, and now a lot cheaper in summer ( peak times on site) bills are maybe ten a week more or less, but the only extra expense is council tax really! £70 per month,,, but I ain’t moaning,,

I’ve worked out my total overhead and including all insurances ( public liability, van etc) phone, rent, council tax, internet, services( gas electric etc) my total outlay to live here on a weekly basis is £ 218.00

now I don’t think that’s bad, and over a year, Helga was easily that with site fees etc! I’m not too worse off with the exception of not being able to drive the flat where I want! Lol. Xxxxx

Well good afternoon,,,,

move had a fantastic day so far,,, let me tell you why!!!!!!

I recieved a phone call from my housing association this morning, telling me that they are granting me my permanent assured tenancy agreement!! Woopieee!
Now I can even swap properties if I want to!!

so I went out to the range, and bought lots of Christmas baubles( balls of every colour )for the tree I have just purchased from a Xmas tree farm On my way home from the range! I’ve never had a real tree before, and because I have no furniture in the way, I bought the biggest Nordic spruce I thought I could get away with!! What do you think????

Hi Ian. :)

Just catching up, and pleased to see you taking a break, especially with the temperatures we are having now. :cold::cold::cold:

I bet it smells lovely in your lounge with that big spruce in there. (y) As suggested above, I hope you've got a decent vacuum cleaner for all the needles that will need clearing up regularly.
Have you decorated it yet, complete with lights and a star or fairy on the top? ;)

That job of Mo & Judy's looks like a goer. (y)

Good luck and best wishes for whatever you choose to do next. :)

On behalf of Rita and I.......................
