Ian, just seen the photos. Does the excavations extend under the old footing- they need to in order to achieve a square base pad. Assume 300 wide dig each side plus 600 wide old footing to make a 1200 pad. I would go a minimum of 300 under old footing and then put in some mesh reinforcement. Make sure Building Inspector inspects prior to concreting, to see that it complies to what has been specified by designer.Evening,,
went to work today,, ended up digging holes for the concrete, to support the new piers I have to build to support the steel which takes the back of the house!!
