LIFE AFTER HELGA !!!!

His van doesn't have a backseat though ::bigsmile: :inlove:
Nope. He's saving the posh van for the second date as chaser s old car will do for any old first date.

Good morning,,,

nothing much to report this weekend,, got my first full week of work in last week, all good.

thought it was going to be a nasty day yesterday, but it turned out to be a decent afternoon, so I washed the van,,

highlight of my day today will be seeing how much much more cardboard I can squeeze into my grey bin for collection tomorrow!!

hope your weekend is more exiting,,have a smashing Sunday,,, I shall update tomorrow re work etc!! Xxxxx

Now you’ve got some work and a tidy flat you’ll have to get yourself a hobby!
Fill up all those free hours so you don’t get bored!

shrimp,,, I will get the occasional round of golf in, whenthe weather gets better, therejust happens to be a 9 hole golf course at the end of the village! Bonus,,

But shrimp your right ,,,, so,,,,,,, I was looking online the other night for salsa lessons, lol. Plenty of places in Norwich do it,, so next week I’m going to ring and have a look!! Lolol.

You could also try modern jive Ian. Lots of classes around. Great fun and easy to pick up. I started about 15 yrs ago when I was on my own, it kept me fit and I met lots of lovely people. Moved onto ballroom now but still love to jive.

Edit: always a surplus of female dancers ;)

my thoughts exactly Karen!! Lololol

But watch out, if you're approached by a female asking if you'd like to dance - that's all she means :ROFLMAO: at first anyway.

Well it’s such a nice day I’ve just been for a walk,, Bit of a chilly wind, but nice! Work will be a lot better next week if the wind drops,, I have the top of one side of a dividing wall to build, into the rafters,, that’s inside, then I have to change and alter a lot of windows and doors,, then I think after that, in maybe a week or so, I shall move straight into the two storey extension on the end of the building, which is really another house!!

I think that Monday week, we’ve got the mini digger and dumper coming in, so I can do the foundation trenches! That, I think, will take me five or six weeks to complete, so weather permitting I have a good run of work!

apart from that, I had a call from a guy who wants a large 9in solid garden wall built,, brickwork to the face, blockwork to the rear when he’s dug the foundation trench, which he wants to do by the end of March,, nice private, about a weeks work!

the builder has also told me that he has a garage conversion and 3 extensions he wants me to do,, so as long as I get paid, and get my promised bonuses I shall stay, work and be happy! But it’s still only wages and I hope to get some more of my own work this year! More grief and agg, but better money! We shall see!!

anyway, that’s about it, nice walk, good think,,, Salsa dancing here we come! Lol.

Good luck to you fella! Glad to see it’s going well.

One of my favourite expressions.......” You make your own luck”:giggle:(y)

Good morning,, been up since 3.30 but that’s what you get when you go to bed at 8.30!! Lol

had a couple of brews, watching bbc news,, just looking at all the migrants from turkey being encouraged to go to Europe, crossing a river from turkey into Greece, and facing massive resistance on the borders! And I grizzled when I was skint,,, I think anyone of them would swap places with me in an instant! What’s going to happen next I wonder!!

going in to work for 8 this morning, late start, but no one on the firm gets to work before 8 on a Monday and I don’t fancy hanging about waiting! I’ve got a fair bit to do, but I shall just plod on and get there in the end!!

right update on flat etc!!
Ever since I’ve moved in here, I’ve not recieved a good signal on either my phone, or my mobile WiFi,, it’s sporadic to say the least, so I was fed up with missing calls and I rang EE yesterday to try and resolve( again) ,,

anyway, after a couple of weeks of getting nowhere, I finally got a result,, I can’t cancel my deal due to the fact that they want the full amount of the existing contract ( 1 year) paid to do it,, but after a long negotiation and the fact that I have been a customer for 20 years, with no gaps, or late payments, they agreed to reduce my package the sum of £28 per month ( half) so I can get BT internet( broadband) at a cost of £27 per month and that will allow me to have WiFi calling andthus alleviating all my calling and internet dramas when I am at home!! Now all I have to do is call 3 ( my mobile WiFi provider) and see if I can either cancel or get a reduction there,, I obviously won’t be needing my unlimited £20 a month package when BT is supplied!! We shall see!!

so, hopefully no rain today, no cold wind, cutting me in half and a good day will be had!!

hooe you had a good weekend, and your Monday is nice and relaxed,,, chat later, xxx

Afternoon,,,

fonally able to get in the roof space to finish the dividing wall,,, Thank god that’s over,, I’m far too old to be scrambling round on my knees, laying blocks into angles that no man should be asked to do!!!

so, I’ve just rung a Cuban dance workshop in Norwich, closed and no reply so I shall try again later,, we shall see what they say! Should be fun!!

not much else to report, moving into the front of the property tomorrow, to start building new doorways etc, lots of cutting out, making good etc,, not a lovely job, but it’s got to be done,, Hopefully will finish all the cutting out, rebuilding in a week or so, then onto the big extension and then back into the houses that need doing next!
Lovely weather though now, well here anyway,, hope yours is as good! Xxxx

Well done Ian, at least they were Thermolite Blocks and not Concrete eh? Lighter and easy to cut, but still very awkward. Hows the labourer holding out, I expect he was useful passing blocks and muck up to you in that roof.
How many other trades are working on site?, are they getting in your way, or you in theirs?:giggle:

Try Ceroc. It’s a form of modern jive but not as formal as classes. Everyone is expected to move partners and there are “taxi” dancers to help beginners. Each session starts with a lesson and then moves into a free dance session. Wallflowers will be asked to dance!
My daughter and son inlaw met at an away weekend. One from Plymouth and one from Essex so they would not have met otherwise.
Google Ceroc, it’s a franchise. The attendance is large in my experience of the Bath group and the Bristol group. It’s great fun and well organised
