ianthebuilder new installations have a thermostatic controller mixer fitted. It stops you filling the bath with hot water and scalding yourself. If you have a showerhead also fitted on the bath I would expect the shower water to be full temp. so you can use the showerhead to fill the bath.
PS the hot tap thermostatic controller is easily by passed, but I didn't say that.

Two mugs of tea down and kettle on !!

so plan of attack!!!

get keys, sign tenancy, empty van, have a brew, measure up for carpets and curtains/ blinds etc, go shopping for carpets/ blinds etc, then Currys for fridge freezer, washing machine, cooker, bring back to flat in van, unload van, back out for supplies, garden table and chairs, blow up bed ( if I don’t buy a permanent one,) unload van, back out for sofa, chair ( if I don’t get from internet)

clean kitchen, plumb washing machine in, set fridge freezer, place cooker( not fitting, gas)

slow walk to bathroom, bend down and place plug in hole, fill to brim with boiling hot water and fall in!! Luxury!!! X

just a really boring point ( cos I always think of the tedious things) —- you do have contents insurance ? Just thinking of you moving a lot of new stuff in, then having to go out............ Don’t want to put a dampener on your enthusiasm but.........

Trouble with deep baths water is cold by the time the rest of the water goes in
the temperature has fallen specially if it’s a combi

the lower the heat output the slower you need to run the tap

don’t forget to find a cheap energy supplier gas and electric and READ your METERS including the ID no of the meter
don’t want you paying someone else’s bill

Fill the bath a day before you need it, then place a large candle or two if your flush, under it, whilst it warms throw some herbs and oils in, then you will come out feeling 10 years younger, smelling good and fully moisturised.
You can add a Garlic Bulb or three, thats what the cannibals did, I saw it on the tele(y):giggle:
I will try and be more sensible tomorrow, I am just feeling crap with a sore throat and tight chest ATM.
Pleased you are in now, even I was fed up waiting.
Sleep well, no fags in that blow up bed, you know what will happen.:giggle:

Each hot water outlet will have a thermostat as said already, they aren't always adjusted properly I had to alter quite a few in my time. Blame H&S for them.

Good morning,,,

I slept like a log on my blow up bed!!

I will take and upload pics later, when carpets are down! Xxxxxx

Morning Ian, the water temp is indeed a bloody pain, as said you can set the temp on the boiler, this should be set to a minimum of 50' to prevent Legionnaires Disease.

You have a Vaillant boiler so no worries there probably the best household boiler on the market, others have suggested thermostatic valves on the taps so I would be looking at getting rid of or asking the powers that be to come and look at those.

Looks like you are settling in just fine so all the best to you matey good luck with the rest of your day.

Hot water temperature can be affected by a shower, if you have one. Cold water can go down the hot pipe. If you have a shower turn it on and run the temperature control from cold to hot a few times. The hot water o the boiler can go to 60 deg and check the flow rate at the bath tap. This time.of year it should be about 10 litters per minute, as a rough guide that's a pint in 4 second, if the flow is faster than that slow it down o the valve on the cold water inlet under the boiler.

As a sidebar thought - can you remove the bath panel to see if the bath is insulated?
Albeit on a steel bath I had this done & the difference was amazing, so just wondering if the hot water flow is slow, the water is cooling almost as quickly as it's filling.

Also, is the boiler trying to heat the flat as well as fill your bath?
But I suspect other funsters suggestions of thermostatic taps is more likely.

The boiler will have priority

the boiler will have priority hot water so heating will not take heat away from hot water

the boiler already has thermostats installed to stop scalding so unlikely there will be one under the bath
although in social housing i have seen thermostatic bath/shower taps fitted

all new builds have to have thermostatic mixing valves usually under the bath but can be in a panel nut has to be within 2m ,i think its 2m may well be less, nanny state at its finest
