LIFE AFTER HELGA !!!!

ianthebuilder you cant stop writing!!!
You do it really well!
What will I read with my morning coffee?
Ignore the keyboard warriors. Some only get joy by knocking others, as they have nothing to offer themselves!
Rise above it!!
As for your workmate, well done for trying to get his life on track. There but for the grace of God, that could be any of us.
By all means, start a new thread.
Do what old mo tell you. He's a very wise old man.
Onwards and upwards ?? ?

ianthebuilder you said not so long ago that we're the closest thing you have to a family. Sometimes families fall out!
A lot has happened since you burst onto the forum and I think many of us feel we've lived the good and bad times with you. We feel we know you even if we don't actually. Sometimes people speak out of turn, mostly they mean well, maybe they're just miserable old gits! That's life, just ignore.
Happily you've now got your life sorted and it's good. Take a break from us but please don't disappear. You don't have to post so frequently but don't disappear!!

Karen & Brian

I am just hoping there isnt more to this than meets the eye, must confess I have upset him a couple of times but only trying to help by what I have seen before, but he has never threatened to leave us, now one post from someone else has got him leaving us for no really apparent reason.
Hope he really is doing as well as he has being telling us.

ianthebuilder- Ian just look at it this way, some people are in the Bill Shankly school of football “ footballs not a matter of life or death, it’s more important than that” so when your team gets kicked out of the European champions league you get a bit tetchy :giggle:
I’ve read all of your posts, before and after I met you and Gus in Aguilas, but must admit I don’t always read what others post on your thread’s, so please don’t stop now. As some may say don’t leave us hanging:(

ianthebuilder dont give up on us old bean! Your followers need you!............Now there’s an idea, isn’t that what the clever trendy folk do nowadays...they go on tweeting or instagram or snapchat (no idea which of these are relevant,I just hear the names lol).....and somehow get millions of “followers”
That’s what you could do......but you have to do something funny or outrageous to “go viral”. Then you get loads if dosh from suppliers for recommending their products.

You shouldn’t have a problem with “outrageous”. Should you?????????:LOL::LOL:(y);)

chaser !! Stop stirring :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: you're walking on thin ice
What's that supposed to mean, stirring what, I just can't win, I'm concerned about the bloke, I know him personally, he's done work for me, and I am totally trying to help, but he's never threatened to leave before over absolutely nothing to do with me.

I've always likened this forum to a night down the pub with your mates. Everyone enjoying themselves and a bit of teasing going on - most times it's all taken for what it is but occasionally someone gets upset. Then there's the grumpy one in the corner ......

chaser, you've always looked out for Ian and I'm sure he knows that you have his best interests at heart.

ianthebuilder. Ian pal ? I am in absolute agreement with all the posts above, in support of you staying on here, keeping us all informed of your day to day progress in life. ?
Please reconsider your decision, taking into account the feelings expressed by those of us who wish you nothing but good luck and good fortune for the future. ?

You can't disappear yet anyway, as I still owe you a breakfast pal. ?

Hope to see you back on here pronto. ?

Jock. ?

You don't see it do you chaser, this is the sort of negative crap Ian doesn't want around him. You are quite happy to believe him when he says he's sat at home twiddling his thumbs yet when he says he's got a good run of work on you have to bring it into question. I realise you aren't stupid and have worded it "I'm only hoping "

Why would he say things are going good if they weren't?, I speak with Ian most weeks, he tells me like he tells people on here when things are shit, he also tells us all when things are going well.

You came up in our conversation last night, you've never upset Ian or offended him (his words) because he knows you and he knows that you have his best interest at heart, he said chas thinks he's my dad and that's not a bad thing, he's got a lot of respect for you, maybe, just maybe you can afford him the same respect back rather than questioning his every decision.

I'm not after a row and won't get involved with one, I'm just telling you what Ian said to me.

Good morning,,, All better now,, I’ve taken the temporary hump of my back! I apologise!!!

well not much to report,, horrid weekend, last night at about ten I was out the front picking up my recycling bin after it blew over and half emptied! Along with a few others as well !!

no work for me today, I went in sat to build a few joists in for the new floor, and now, at least until Wednesday they have to take the other side of the floor out, then put new joists so I can build the new party wall in the first floor and up into the roof!

I have on Wednesday evening, about 4 pm my first inspection of the flat, by someone from the housing associations tenancy committee, I’m not expecting any major dramas, but we shall see !!

so after this week I’m looking at 3/4/5 months work on this job, but you never know! I’m just hoping to get through till mid March then I can get my own ads in the paper etc,,

Well I hope you had a good dry weekend, I’m watching the news, and I can’t believe the amount of flooding round the country! Shocking!!

Have a good day,, chat soon! Xxx

I'm sure they will be mighty impressed.
If not point them to here and we'll put them right.:LOL:

I just want to say,, that I was only a bit fed up with the negativity that was posted, not the people that posted as individuals,,, I love you all ! Xx
Ian just a bit off topic, did you ever get the bath water up to temperature. There was a post on here showing a simple fix. I can find it for you if you still need it.

Really good to have you back Ian ?. I love your posts and the lovely fresh outlook you bring to so many aspects of life. The world is a better place for having you in it. Please stick around. :p

As a sidebar thought - can you remove the bath panel to see if the bath is insulated?
Albeit on a steel bath I had this done & the difference was amazing, so just wondering if the hot water flow is slow, the water is cooling almost as quickly as it's filling.

Also, is the boiler trying to heat the flat as well as fill your bath?
But I suspect other funsters suggestions of thermostatic taps is more likely.

We put a bigger bath in and my late husband had to insulate the bath
