LIFE AFTER HELGA !!!!

Good evening,,,

not much to report, builder sent me a text saying concrete all in and ready for Monday, so all good on the work front!
Victory housing, my landlords, had a residence meeting today, and I went along,, it was in a place called Acle at the Rec centre,, well only 6 of us turned up, obviously a lot were working, and it was really interesting!!

victory have now merged with Flagship another housing association of a slightly bigger size, and now are a huge association!!

they have even gone into the construction business, buying their own land and building houses, flats etc, interesting I thought!!

we chatted about lots of stuff, and they even mentioned the swap system, where after a year of being with them and being a good tennant, you can go onto a couple of various websites and look for an exchange,, now I’ve heard about this, but always assumed you could only swap within the association your with, but no,,,, I was told by someone a week or so ago that you can swap with anyone anywhere in the country, that has either a housing association property or even a council place!! Of course yo have to find someone who wants your place, but just imagine the scope that gives you,, you can even get involved in a chain of more than two people, just like a housebuying situation,,
Now before you go thinking that I’m going to move, I’m not ,, yet!! Lol. But it’s nice to know that the system supports that and it could be a real winner for some!!

I met a couple of really cool people, had a few cups of Yorkshire tea! And it was a good 3 hrs!! Yes, I think it’s agood idea!

I met a bloke, Dave, who lives in the flats just along from me, and what a story he’s got!!
He was a psychiatric nurse, till his girlfriend pushed him down the stairs some 4 years ago,, unconscious for four hours, brain damage, which bought on four years of depression and suicidal thoughts,, now he’s recovered and waiting to take his place in the working world again! He doesn’t think he wants to go back to what he once did, but he says even care work in a home etc would be a good start! Yes nice people!!

so that’s it for another week,, I heard there’s a storm coming this weekend, so wrap up warm,,, have a good evening,, chat later, xxxx

Good morning,,,

well, it seems to have arrived!! It’s blowing a gale, and looks a bit rainy! I say looks because I can’t feel a thing!! I’m going purely on vision through my triple glazed windows! Lolol.

it’s days like this I’m afraid to say I don’t miss Helga!! Tramping through the mud to empty the cassette,, rocking from side toside! Ahhhh. Those were the days! I will say though,, I honestly think I slept better in her than I have anywhere else, ever!!

not got much to do today, prepare for tomorrow, luckily enough all my new work next week, is inside! Lovely!!

hope the weather is not too bad for you, wherever you may be! Chat later,, xxxxx

Take it fairly easy today Ian.
Your old back has had an easy time for quite a while and won’t be used to hard graft.
Don't bugger it up on your first day.
Plenty of brew breaks to give it a rest I recon.
Have a good day. (y)

Richard.

At least you have your garden, which way does it face?

Ian's back will be fine, that's what the labourer is for surely?

and he can have a lovely hot soak in his bath with a cuppa yorkshire brew when the workday is done..(y)
(that was something lacking with helga bless her) wonder how the new owners are getting on with her and if they joined up here.......

Good afternoon Ian hope your first day back went well, as dryad says what is nicer than a nice hot soak after a days work. Onwards and upwards.

Yeah, we are all good, couple of sniffs of redundancy, but it's never my area, mores the pity! The dogs miss your rich tea biscuits, but they had stopped looking for you and Helga on the campsite last year!

There was no need to get up at 03:45 to reply :giggle::giggle::giggle:
