Lenny's on the road to Portugal

Nice pictures Lenny, at least you have escaped most of the rain north of you, I think Santander & Bilbao are gonna get a lot of the wet stuff tomorrow:eek:Tams up there, hopefully fixed his leaky roof.
Decent looking food, I am guessing main was a kedgeree type thingy with fish?
You did well limiting yourself to only one beer, it is that bad?:D
Happy travels, you aint missing much back here at the moment.
Les
Been away 34 days had far too much rain, 1½ days so far. :ROFLMAO:

Lunchtime only one beer because driving later but did have ½ of 'er indoors wine.
It was Bacalhau (salted cod) cooked with onions & crisp type chipsticks. Nice but quantity was huge, I struggled to finish it boss didn't manage it.

Ah it was Bacalhau, yes I know of it, a favourite of The Italian American Mafia, as seen & mentioned in so many movies :D
Yes you have been lucky with the weather, hope its stays that way for you both.
Les

We too enjoyed Elvas. Well worth visiting. Shame about the parking restriction.

That looks bloody gorgeous. I'm on a diet (again) and no potatoes plus other goodies for me. Loosing weigh but now the body has clocked on to what I'm doing and starting to store the fat resulting in a slower weight loss. This happens every time I do this so I know what to expect and I'm blessed with a I'm not going to stop attitude. Drooling now though after seeing your pictures.

Nah ...Tam, Tam!
Your forgetting that every meal out thus far, Lenny has always mentioned that the main course portions were too much for him (even got a doggy bag once remember?)
So I will suggest 15 Euros, as he now asks for the children's Happy Meal portions:D
Only an FLT would think of that one eh?(y)

Had some of that wet stuff tofay, used the opportunity to stock up on Portuguese wine & cheese to take home

Went to visit some gardens in Castelo Branco but couldn't park there so gave them a miss.

Gone up to a lovely spot in the mountains for the night at Unhais da Serra, free of course.
Would like to stay here a few days and do some walking but we need to start heading home, don't want to be doing 300 miles a day.

We stayed there a few years ago. In fact it was the first Aire we in Portugal we ever stopped at.

But I read it had been closed and parking was no longer allowed. When I read that I looked and it was not on campercontact, but now it is. One of the reviews suggested the police were fining people n 2017 and 2018.

Hope it is open again, because it had some lovely views and a nice town to walk around.

Glad it is

Us and two other vans there last night, no problems. There is a sign up giving coordinates of a couple of camp sites.
Noticed this morning there was a "no overnight" sign on the hut at the back buck it had been sprayed black and could only just make it out. May have had some dates on it, took a photo to see if we could work it out.
Don't know if the spraying was a disgruntled Motorhomer or they had decided to allow overnighting again.

Lenny, How did you get the black paint off your hands with no turps on board?:D
Note to oneself:Tool box essentials:
Black Spray ( Rattle tin) for Portugal trip....Check.
