Croatia is one of the most beautiful places I've visited, great roads, lovely people, great food and wine. The coast road is spectacular. Try to visit the Plitvice Lakes, dedicated motorhome parking, get there early as it's worth a full days visit.
I suppose every one is different. I didn't think much of Croatia agree roads fairly good and people friendly.
Beaches pretty grim concrete poored over the shingle from the Russian days. Plitvice Lakes over commercialised full of chinese waving selfie sticks in your face.
Gave up eating out the food was so salty we found it uneatable.
Mainland Greece has a similar coastline but with far nicer natural beaches.

Nope, I'm non religious but churches tend to be the focal point of French villages and the architecture is always worth a look.
I am an extremely ex-Catholic but do appreciate the architecture of some of the churches, we always have a look in them if we can.

One problem we have found on this trip is water, we expect problems in Febuary but not in September. I think a lot of Bourns were turned off last year due to Covid.
Good job it's not been very warm and we have not been having a shower every day like we normally do.
Left home last Sunday with a full tank and not been able to get any so far. 3 Bourns out of order, 1 with water turned off & one needed a jeton but the bar where you got the jetons was closed.
Yesterday we nearly filled up at one of the church yards but I had a check and we still had a ⅓ of a tank so didn't bother. Were heading for an Aire today with hope but Aire was closed, still got 25% so OK until tomorrow, bought some bottled water just in case.

Struck gold tonight, just round the corner from where we are parked there is a village tap can even park fairly close to it, so will put a bit in, in the morning.

First time we have ever had a problem getting water in France.

One of a handful of Funsters that I can’t wait to leave the country!
(And I mean that in a nice way Lenny HB )
I always look forward to reading your trips antics and after working all week and not noticing the thread until now, I’m just catching up.
I hope you have great time!

The start of another little trip, went Dover Calais this time as first stop Belgium and the ferry was half the price of the tunnel.

French boarder control scanned our passports, glanced at the QR vax code on our phones didn't scan it, didn't ask for the travel declaration form, that was it, no one in UK booth.

Arrived at Calais into a brand new berth, first boat to Dock at it, loads of the bosses watching. Boat came in really slow took ages to berth then they had a problem with the ramp took ½ hour to get off the boat.

Quick pitstop at the Super U at Grand Fort Philip for wine, milk & flan.

Parked up at Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 in Belgium. Visit to dealer in the morning for damp check then we will head south, not a clue where.

Could you imagine what would happen if that statue (totem pole?) was erected in Britain. The anti-racist mob would be all over it.

There are 3 Motorhome spaces but only OK for small vans up to 7m but always plenty of room in the top car park where we were & where the Motorhome spaces are.

Our hovel is within the diameter from the village church [which is a splendid building that allows access to the peak of the dome from the inside!] that requires Batiments de France approval for any alterations to the house. But when I told the Maire that the alterations were at the rear of the hovel, so couldn't be seen from the road, and that Jackie and René, our neighbours on each side were happy with our plans, he told me to clear off, 'Planning approval granted. No paperwork. Go. I am a Farmer, and I have a Harvest to get in. Go!' (y)

It’s to mark an area of significance or to highlight the culture of the Maori tribe that made sacrifices. Only like a Cenotaph is for us.

Last year just before lockdown, I was cycling in the hills above Calpe and I stopped a traffic lights. At the time I was wearing a cycling top with a large Welsh flag on it.

Waiting for the lights to change, a group of Belgian rides pulled along side.
One said to me "we have a statue of that dragon in my village".
Nonplussed, I said "oh"!
"Yes", he said, "I live in Passchendaele and we have a statue to commemorate all the Welsh soldiers who lost their lives so that I can be free"

What do you say to that!

Terry

Gale force winds all night, we were nicely rocked to sleep.

Filled the tank from the village tap, then set off heading south. 10 minutes into the trip it started lashing down and didn't stop until we parked up for the night.

Just north of the Massif Central at an ancient village of Charroux. Managed 141 miles today.

Weather is not looking good across the whole of France for the next day or two but better in the West. Hope it improves for you as France in October is usually splendid👍

We stayed at Charroux on 13th Sept, on our way down through France. According to my Polar Steps, it was 28C on that day.
It's a lovely stop.
We're in Lautrec now. Heading slowly back for our own Campidrama on 18th October.
It's been tipping it down since about 2pm here. Although we did get to go for a good walk, this morning.
Forecast seems to say that things will start to improve tomorrow and be bright and sunny again from Wednesday. 🤞
Hope things improve for you. It looks as though the Gruissan area is warmer than other places 👍.

The weather front arrived here in Gruissan this evening just as forecast.
Howling southerly winds last night and this morning and now on-off rain.
Should clear Monday morning and normal service will be resumed.
At least it has remained warm the whole time.

Richard.
