Lenny's on the Road again

You're well off the beaten track there - just the sort of place we like. There are some ruins on a hill nearby according to Google maps - but they don't look very special.

Found a really interesting bit in the village the one & only restaurant.

Yes quite remote we are next to a very small village. It was a nice drive across the mountains & plains. Ruins everywhere mostly old stone built houses and churches.

Now at Belchite, the old town was destroyed and most of the inhabitants killed during the civil war a new town was built along side, the new town lacks character.
Can't look around the old town until tomorrow as you have to have a guided tour.

Then on to Aguero, no stops on Camper Contact but one on Park4night didn't look too bad so we risked it.
To get to it up a single track mountain road with loads of hairpins & no crash barriers.
Parked up, though not that happy here typical P4N place, total crap. Looking on Google maps to see what the roads were like through the village and there is a municiple site in the village hadn't noticed it on CC as we tend to use the Motorhome stop filter.
A bit of investigating and find it's open all year, so back down the hairy road & it's getting dark.
Anyway much to our disgust we are on a site but it's convenient and much better than the P4N offering.

The P4N offering just a bit of space beside the road with a shear drop to the side of us.

Went to old Belchite ourselves, a few years back. Very moving. Franco allegedly left it like that as a symbol of the futility of resisting his fascism. I prefer to see it as a damning indictment of the complacent inaction on the part of of other European nations towards Franco's brutality and his Nazi collaborators practicing their 'skills'.

Just some pork kebabs, took them off the skewers and fried, them too cold for cooking outside, up in the mountains only 7°.
I know that feeling its blooming 5° here in Luxembourg

....south James and don't spare the horses me thinks

I thought for a minute looking at that portrait of a dinner scene, that we were all gonna be asked to play GTB, it would be hard enough to guess the currency at the time.:giggle:
Have Fun, you two, hope the weather stays dryer for you, seems to be looking good all last week up in The Verdon Gorge region somehow.
