Lenny's on the Road again

Had a rude awaking in the middle of the night, cold water dripping on my back. Some of that wet stuff was falling out of the sky & some twit left the roof light over the beds open.

Had a plesent cycle ride around the delta today.

Hi Lenny. Just rejoined the forum and caught up on your wonderful thread. Had a break from here over the summer partly because busy working hard to save for the next trip and partly couldn't face seeing the beautiful weather elsewhere! Got some inspiration from this thread particularly Girona and Montserrat. Where did you get the train from to Girona. We stayed on a free aire near Girona last March. It was our last stop in Spain before coming back and we really wanted to see more of the area though not sure if it will be on the outward or return journey this time as we still haven't made our mind up about our route to Portugal yet. Leaving on Tuesday! Ps love all the food pics (chouder looks awesome) and very excited about eating out without spending a days wages like it costs here.

Hi Helen & Paul, nice to hear you will be on the road again, have good trip.

All the CP/Aires around Girona had bad reports so we avoided them.
For our trip to Girona we stayed at the Spa town of Caldes de Malavella, 9 min on the fast train, 14 on the slow one to Girona. Lovely little town small Aire only 5 spaces but the don't mind you using the bus spaces next to it.
See post #450.

We had local knowledge from a Portuguese man not to take our Moho anywhere near Lisbon as it would be broken into! I never established if the culprits were Romanians or Romanies! Going by car is fine but not Motorhome! Trains in Spain are very good as we found out when visiting Bilbao. 4 trips in and out and all punctual to the minute!

When we went to Lisbon we stopped the other side of the river by the Hydrofoil terminal.

My bird recognition skills are dire but the dark birds are glossy ibis I think. Most of them migrate to Africa for the winter so these birds are probably on the move.
Yep, last time we were here it was March just a few stragglers hundreds now. Also common Terns, little Terns, Cormerants, White Herons, Grey Herons, Little Egretts, Flamingos, Herring Gulls and quite a few others.

I'm envious. We've done a UK tour this autumn but we'll be back on mainland Europe next year. :)

Hmmm, the fact that Mr Wallet has taken a pummelling over past week or two surely wouldn't have any bearing on the "couldn't manage pud" statement.......would it?

Any way I recon 31.78 euros:cool:

Just bought a mint TZ60 on eBay. £80. Seems great.
Thanks for the help Lenny.
Sounds good, I think we paid £110, 18 months ago first one we bought new.
