Lenny's off again Germany, then wherever

It is safe if it’s done properly - our son who’s a chef explained it - something to do with how the beef is prepped and minced - but
This is interesting - it never occurred to me that steak haché wouldn’t be safe. I vividly remember going out for a family meal in Brittany. As soon as we left my daughter threw up violently, in front of the restaurant. She had just eaten steak haché.

Yes - Rare burgers are not completely outlawed in the UK, but they're frowned upon by the food safety authorities. As a food business you've got to jump through some serious hoops to demonstrate to them that you know what you are doing.

Informative Q&A about rare burgers here, including why rare steak is fine, but rare burgers are problematic -

Getting worried now as Lenny has not surfaced, hope my burger recommendation has not killed him😳😳 or maybe he is to busy emptying the cassette again😂😂 good thing is not to far to walk on that Stelplatz so time to empty run back to fill again😂😂

Be interesting to see how much prices have gone up, I had the burger and Mrs CC had a salad thing, 2 deserts and 2 drinks came to.

Another good thing about Revolut you can find places you have been before😁😁
Looks like it's about 7% more now.
Ours was €44.30, if we had the same as you it would have been €67.

Not to bad then, probably Germany is the best value place to eat out now, mate went back to Croatia this year and same restaurant gone up about 15%😳😳😳

Spain & Portugal still cheap gone up a bit since Covid but still good value.

Food in Aldi & Lidl dearer than the UK now, always used to be cheaper here in Germany.

I was an English Assistant in a school in Augsburg. It's where Graham and I got engaged. We climbed to the top of the tower in the main square.

Isn't that romantic? 😍😍😍

Tower closed for renovation bought tickets in the Rathaus for the golden room & tower but the tower was closed.

We are at an ACSI camp site in Augsburg as we had a mountain of washing. Moving on tomorrow, not sure where but north a bit. Might give Dinkelsbuhl a go.
One night was enough then, avoiding me now.

Must admit we are going to have to find somewhere to do some washing soon as we didn't bring the washing machine on this trip.

For anyone doing the romantic road I'd say don't bother with Augsburg, biggish city not much to see.

The golden room in the Rathause was quite impressive & found one city gate and a tiny bit of wall.

Not at all, I’ve still got technical questions I haven’t asked 😂😂

I agree about Augsburg not worth a special stop. The laundry is frustrating, they don’t seem to have laundrettes very much or the washing machines at supermarkets like France.

Then we went to the Fuggerel the oldest social housing in the world build in 1521.
Part of it is now a museum but over 75% of it is still occupied with residents paying a rent of €0.88 a year plus service charge.

Before street lighting was installed residents could find their way home buy the bell pulls each house/apartment had a bell pull of a different design.

Mozarts family have lived in an apartment here since1681.

They have street lighting now but it is still gas
powered.

That was a heavy afternoon on the feet a couple of miles into town after wandering around the town walked another 2miles to the historic water towers, by the time we got there museum was closed and nowhere to get a decent photo. Then over 2 miles back to the van, dinner was a frozen paella not a patch on the French or Spanish ones.

I was on the Reil Stellplatz last week.It was absolutely packed with Germans and French.Only one other English van.The Imbiss had changed hands this season and the food was rubbish.New shower block was good. A rolling meet in France not far from the ports would be good so people could join either on their way to their destination or on their return.

Fussen?
Forgot to say if you do go this one we stayed at defiantly had a washer and dryer, it’s the last one down the end next to Aldi, there are 2 more Stelplatz before this one. They do have a little restaurant that was not to bad…

We used the middle of the three stellplatz in Füssen 4 or 5 weeks ago. This too had a washer and a dryer. Also the most modern and spotless toilet and washroom you will see anywhere. Real credit to the operators. Reception also give out the Füssen Guest Card for free buses into town and onto Neuschwanstein Castle.

Definitely a washing machine and drier at the stellplatz in Fussen. Just checked. Mr Wallet may struggle though... €22

On the plus side its very hot here.
