Lenny's off again Germany, then wherever

As I said got the train to Bamberg today what a palaver trying to sort out trains & tickets. Turned out it was cheaper to buy a two day ticket than a day return. Could go back tomorrow but we won't. By the time we got sorted out missed a train by less than a minute next one was a 45 min wait.
What happened to German efficiency train was 15 min late didn't leave for another 15 min and arrived at Bamberg 40 min late.

Not impressed with Bamberg nothing really interesting & it was absolutely rammed people everywhere runing our photos.

All across Germany we've found that if you take your stellplatz receipt or campsite receipt to the tourist information office, you'll be given a local travel ticket for that day and the following day. Always includes buses, but has frequently included regional trains too.

Bamberg looks interesting. Supposed to be lots of good independent breweries there too. It's a possible stop off on our way home in 4 or 5 weeks home from Croatia.

We enjoyed Bamberg there was a big musical parade through the town whilst we were there, everyone dressed in traditional German costumes.
That sausage and chips looks lovely, a pile of sauerkraut and a spoon of zemp( mustard)on the side and that would do me a treat.

There was a kostenlos( free)Stellplatze right in the town centre when we went, is that where you are staying?

Back to van Lenny, get some decent food eh.
Time for a Lenny Tortilla, serve it with a white mushroom sauce, & Chips.
Put The Awning out, with your table & chairs with the table cover, roll basket, candle in the middle, sell in the Stelplatz for 20EU, plus any Real Spanish Red wine you have in stock, and you would have a queue a mile long. (y)
Happy travels.

Strange that there no Indian or Chinese/Thai restaurants in Germany, when I went to the Far East The Germans loved that food. They even owned many bars in Thailand/Malaysia, Lenny will verify no doubt.
In Fact there is only a handful of the usual American Fast Food joints in Germany, and even they are not in some of the big towns.
Big Surprise, never thought of it before now, must be a reason I guess.

Seen plenty of Chinese and Asian places in Germany, a few Indian restaurants but not as many as you see in the UK

Cracking Chinese in Fussen, all the Chinese tour buses go there, on the main drag on the way in towards the Town Centre but strange opening hours!

Nearly went in an Indian yesterday but we had a curry I cooked a couple of days before, loads of Chinese restaurants but neither of us that fussed about Chinese.

Made a right balls up on the train tickets yesterday. Should have waited 30min at the ticket office instead of using a machine.
Bought two tickets at €22.20 each found out this morning one ticket covers 2 adults and up to 4 children.

Gets worse paid €6.40 to get the Ubann back to where are parked now found out the ticket covers all transport, train, bus tram & Ubann.

Making use of the Tram & Ubann this afternoon.

Ain't ya got leccy bikes like eveyone else on here........................except me.

I think you have to live in these places to understand how public transport ticketing works, or like many of us, get taken for mugs as a lesson.
Bristol UK had us buy tickets at the bus stop machine £4 each, only to find boarding the bus that actually stopped, they were the wrong tickets!, driver made us buy another 2 tickets at £4 each for only 2 stops, as we walked back to the van for fear of getting on the wrong bus!
