Lenny's off again Germany, then wherever

I know someone with 2 dogs that traveled around Düsseldorf for 2 days and “forgot” to buy a ticket🤔🤔

Also know someone that paid €25 for bus and train tickets for the day in Switzerland and never got asked to produce them, then found out if they had read the email sent by the site they could get free travel passes :crying:

Made a right balls up on the train tickets yesterday. Should have waited 30min at the ticket office instead of using a machine.
Bought two tickets at €22.20 each found out this morning one ticket covers 2 adults and up to 4 children.

Gets worse paid €6.40 to get the Ubann back to where are parked now found out the ticket covers all transport, train, bus tram & Ubann.

Making use of the Tram & Ubann this afternoon.
As previously mentioned, if you've paid for a stellplatz or campsite, take your receipt to the tourist information centre. Your likely to get a pass giving free local / regional transport.

Last month in Germany, we stayed at the stellplatz in Oberkirch in the Black Forest for 2 nights (€12 per night from memory) and got free unlimited travel on buses and regional trains for 3 days. Used it for various excursions including train trip to Baden-Baden.

We also stayed on one of the private "aires" in Füssen and got tickets for free bus travel into the centre of town and out to the castle at Neuschwanstein.

Similarly, stayed on the aire in Bodman-Ludwigshafen on the north shore of Lake Constance and got free regional train and bus tickets that we used to have a day out by train to Lindau.

I was on a stag do to Prague a couple of years ago. We bought bus tickets from a machine in the airport and just got on the bus. Luckily one of the locals wanted to practice his English on us and explained that you must "validate" your tickets by inserting them into a little unit on one of the "steady poles" inside the bus, as there's quite a big fine if you don't and get caught by an inspector.

No bratwurst to be seen for our mid afternoon snack😇😎😆

Base was a little bit soggy in the middle as the crust was a bit thick otherwise very good.

All across Germany we've found that if you take your stellplatz receipt or campsite receipt to the tourist information office, you'll be given a local travel ticket for that day and the following day. Always includes buses, but has frequently included regional trains too.

Bamberg looks interesting. Supposed to be lots of good independent breweries there too. It's a possible stop off on our way home in 4 or 5 weeks home from Croatia.
I saw you write this a few weeks ago, and thought "I must remember that"
Can you repost just prior to September for me next year please

€39.50 but that carbonara looks well dodgy 😂

This morning we finally got the bikes out and spent a couple of hours cycling around the park.
When from one end of the Great Road and back we walked part of it yesterday. It was built as a parade ground it's vast.

From the start.
