Lenny's Modding the new Mini Gin Palace 2

I’m using my c-tourer at 3500kg until I get my C1 over winter. I thought i can live with the 220kg payload for winter weekend trips local in the uk. Need the C1 sorting and playing to 4200kg before spring though

Have weighed it?

Yeah it was weighed in Germany when the dealer got the TUV certification to downplate it. I need to crack on with my C1 though as I need more payload!!

Can you put up a pic of a “parked” maxx fan? I.e stopped and shut off, cos the ones I’ve seen are stuck up too, what are they doing in that position? Blowing air out or sucking air in?

Lenny HB apologies if I've missed this in your thread - have you fitted winter tyres to your new van and do you still rate the Toyo Observe?

Not done anything with the tyres yet probably wait until they are worn a bit, shouldn't be too long with the miles we are doing.
I was pleased with the Toyo but may try Falken to get a comparison.

Another couple design stupidities sorted.
The USB socket for the hab area very difficult to access with the seats swivelled & a mains socket equally stupidly placed.

And while at it upgraded the one in the front.

Finally got around to sorting out the stupid central locking, it auto relocks and there is no way of disabling it. When it relocks it can be anything from 15 sec to 1 min., got around it by leaving the hab door open so the contacts aren't made until it relocks and then only the cab door locks. Not much fun when it's freezing or peeing down.

I've fitted a switch inline with the hab door solenoid on the side of the door, so now I can unlock the van flip the switch knowing the hab door will stay unlocked.

We fitted Falken All Seasons to our Carthago 138 this year & found it made a fantastic difference in comfort compared to our previous Michelin CP tyres which were 5 years old.

AFAIA there is a mod available to stop the auto locking. A colleague had it done at Camper UK when he picked his van up. I think it is just a mod to the loom somewhere, but it seems it is only done if you ask for it.

Do you know, or, can you ask whether it was entire vehicle auto locking or just the hab door please, and is it based on a merc or fiat?

My van (which is a Swift) has this irritation about it, and whilst I understand what Lenny has done and why, I can see me walking away from the van thinking I've locked it only to find the hab door locking is disabled 😖:Eeek:

Yes, you can imagine what position your insurer would take under those circumstances.

I have a “D” lock bar on the hab door . I positioned it so the vertical bar is over the handle and the lock

I asked Go European, they said they couldn't do anything about it, I asked Adams Morey (Fial Professional) they said its a setting only Carthago have access to.

The central locking is just on two doors the habitation door & the cab door.
The solenoid is quite loud when it locks also you only need to try the handle, I always do that on cars anyway.

The thread got stupidly off topic so I got Jim to tidy it up, he got a bit overzealous.
