Lenny's Modding the new Mini Gin Palace 2

I see you have had the base plates that go on the feet of your jacks, did you have to pay extra for them … SAP charged me £150  And told me it was a bargain

I got mine free at SAP but that's when they were good😀

That's a weird place for the E&P remote it normally goes on uk passenger side on the dash where there is a recess. Where abouts is yours fitted?
Mine is fitted behind the drivers seat on the pillar…. Which makes sense as you let the air out of the suspension get out of the van and then put the jacks down

Nope a freebee and got a discount on the air.

It is on the passenger side below the USB & Hella socket, perfect fit.

Im still on the Remote, I can either put the boards under get out and watch whist i put down the jacks front or rear or if I’m on hardstanding I just do it whilst I’m sat in the driver seat, no faffing about going to passenger side😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A couple of toys fitted, Semi-Air on the rear and E&P jacks.
The boss not happy with the jacks complaining that the van doesn't move or rock when she gets in or moves in it.
Probably have to put them up when it's windy so we get rocked to sleep.🤣

Ditto, although I think it was actually a CAMC member offer.
I've also noticed a change of attitude at SAP recently. Any idea what's going on?

Mick has taken a back seat due to his wife's health.
I used Rosmia as they are only 20 miles from me.

Happy with the quality and eye for detail of fitment Lenny?

Yes very good, they had a problem with the E&P it turned out to be the pump, wouldn't let me have the van back until after two days testing after changing the pump.

No having VB semi air.

They have started selling the Dunlop kit again, they withdrew it a few years ago due to so many problems with DIY fitting.

It's quite a big job on an Al-Ko chassis you really need a lift to do it.
Or E&P fitted already, not as hard as peeps say Lenny HB, they are more work than the standard Fiat chassis air bags but nothing any half decent mechanic can do

I think you're right. I know Mick has been away from the business for a while last year and I agree, the woman fronting the show at the moment is not what you would call customer friendly!

I'm glad it's not just me then😀

Mick used to be really pro-active toward us and appreciated the custom of Funsters, but this year was the first time that he's not supported the Funster Yearbook. Wouldn't get back to me, then when I caught up with him, he asked for time to think about it, that's a no to me, so I never called back. Shame he's been in it since the first one.

Funny thing, this year I had the same thing with another long-time supporter of the yearbook SVTech they just didn't respond to emails. Is something going on there? Strange, if I didn't want to advertise somewhere this year I'd say, Sorry, not this year maybe next, but ignoring people! I don't get it.

To keep that journal nice we only have a few advertisers in it and luckily, I have a waiting list of companies who want to get in.

I just spent a couple of days at SAP and have to say from a Customer Service perspective they were fine, Rachel kept me informed on parts availability and arrival prior to the job being done, both people in the office phoned round to get me a taxi, one of the guys from the workshop helped with some cash, when collecting they said they noticed the air pump power cable was flapping about and since they didn't know it was not deliberate they had left it - when I said it wasn't he promptly slid under the van and reconnected it, at which point the air tank filled.

So the guys seemed just as nice as on my previous visit, coms are slow if you want to talk to Mick, but fine for normal business. I'm sure increasing the boss's presence would make a difference to the business, but they got the job done!

I think SV have lost a couple of staff and with VWE out of action probably snowed under. No excuse not to reply but maybe why?

I wonder if they are feeling the pinch for - whatever their respective reasons?

Civility though, costs nothing - acquiring new customers can be a significant part of any business's costs, retaining them, through good service etc is key in my view.

So odd behaviour.

When I used SV a few years ago they were excellant now they are a PIA to deal with.
If you phone you get a recorded message saying they will call back within 10 days but they don't.
I emailed them took over a week to get a reply, then I asked another question never did get an answer.

Emailed my uprate form and docs yesterday, fingers crossed.

I've been told VB are looking at doing an uprating service.

I don’t want to say too much as it’s very personal

Mick st SAP’s wife passed away last year after a long struggle with C, this is why he’s taken a back step from fronting the business.

I was talking to him on the VB stand at the NEC late last year and at SAP when they did my semi air and new rear rams in November.

So he has a new lady in the office who’s learning the job and obviously getting over his loss at the same time.

The original plan was to repropose the Lippert/Schaudt B2B to run the fridge but now decided to put in back in so it can now be run in parallel with the Victron B2B except I have put a switch inline with the D+ (just visible on top of the cabinet) so it can be switched on when extra charging is required.
