Lenny's Looking for Some Sunshine

Yep, they scan it now not had that before, that's what called the hold up at the port, idiots with thier phones not logged on to French network.

Its PLF you don't have to fill in and show now, not that they ever asked for it.
I thought they would do this at Newhaven in the same way as they do it in Dover. Saves putting people on next available return Ferry because they fail entry requirements.

Not French staff at Newhaven it's a very small port.
The English guys did a visual check at check in.

Had a wander around the lake in the rain before setting off.

By the time we had stopped for fuel & food didn't get far today only done 130 miles.
Tried to stop at Bonneval, after negotiating all the traffic carming in the village, flipping nightmare with great big flower planters in the road. Got to the Aire, flipping fun fair on it.

So now 11km down the road road from there at Marboue, of the 7 vans here 5 are Brits but no Funsters.

Hi Lenny, have you stayed there before? Either that or a near identical pic, anyhow I follow your Aires with pictures and as co ordinates are a bit long winded have you thought about using What Three Words when you stop at an aire, I find it a really easy useful tool to put in the words on the app and bring up straightaway where it is.👍👍 Dead easy for an idiot like me😁😁

I fully agree with that statement.

I spend enough time posting on these travel threads without more hassle.
I use an app on my phone that automatically puts in the coordinates.

Just a thought to help the simpletons out🤷🏼‍♂️😉👍

The river and grass area in front of the Aire quite nice but village not yp to much, Bonneval looked more interesting.
We went to a bar there and the bloke brought our drinks out with a little bowl of cherry tomatoes 🤷‍♀️

I over did waxing the loo with Collinite, did the bit around the rim. Now when you flush it the water shoots out over the top of the loo.
Did you do the whole of the bowl with the collinite. I take it nothing sticks to it for a while.

I've spent a lot of time in French bars. I could make a Pastis last two hours!
I have in the past, it's got so expensive now, for not much more than the price of a few drinks you can get a three course meal in restaurant.

try the boulangerie on the corner - pain aux raisins are divine and usually massive ..... last visit we bought a little lemon 'tart' - stunningly crafted and soooo yummy ! ( it was even beautifully wrapped ) .. we stop by even if we don't stopover!
