Lenny's Looking for Some Sunshine

Have a good one. I hope the weather improves for you soon. It's a bit of a shock being back with this cold and damp. The dog is not enjoying it at all.

Nice and sunny here in Murcia. Ooops that was 4 April last year.

Took ½ hour to get through immigration can't blame the French, idiots in the queue who hadn't checked their phone had logged onto a French network so couldn't bring up their vac QR code for scanning.
Does this mean we have to have a French Sim? We have the QR on our wallets from the NHS is that good enough?

Yep, they scan it now not had that before, that's what called the hold up at the port, idiots with thier phones not logged on to French network.

Its PLF you don't have to fill in and show now, not that they ever asked for it.
We are crossing over this afternoon .not sure what you mean French network 🙄..we have a mifi and roaming dont these alter auto and the Tac Verif app ...with hard copies is this alright
Gosh there is so much red tape these days ...😁😁🤔🤔

Enjoy your trip !

Have a great trip. Looking forward to where you stop and the route. Only 13 sleeps to go, until we catch the train. In search of hot weather and cheap Apertivo!

NHS one is OK but you just a data connection for it to display unless you take a screen shot that should work.
You need to transfer it to the French app for restaurants UK app is supossdd to work but it doesn't.

Sorry that's not good enough ... when doing comparison shots from one time period to another it has to be of the same location.

Go get your huskies and sled out and go to where the first photo was taken and photograph it now. 🥶
I think Judith was winding me up.

Every time you cross a boarder your phone/Mifi has to login to a network in the new country or you will have no signal.

Supposed to work automatically but over 50% of the time it doesn't.

When we came off the ferry my phone was OK on calls & text but no data, a reboot sorted it.
Mijhan's phone had no signal at all a reboot didn't work so we had to select the network carrier manually.

Go east man, go east👍👍

We did France and Spain last year but not one for repeating experiences - we're going to head a little further east and then south to Italy.

On the border issues - we always defualt to paper. To nervous about dodgy phone connections/dead battery etc. At the very least download you vaccination certificate to the phone in case you don't have a connection. It's like those old folk in the supermarket that queue for ages and then decide to try and find their purse when it's time to pay. Like they never realised it was going to happen:rolleyes:

We always have just printed a copy to show and always been OK in France, Spain and Germany. I guess a lot of people switched off roaming now you get charged by most networks for data abroad.

Yep, and it seems to me especially in France when they pay by cheque, haven't got a pen, don't know the date, who to make it out to or for how much. At least some supermarkets put the customer's blank cheque in a machine that completes the details.

Or the trendy youngsters in front of me at the Tesco checkout who spent ages scrolling up and down and side to side through page after page (of family photos it seemed) on their YuppyPhones trying to find something to present to the cashier - I assume a discount voucher of some sort.

See my post above, worked for us no issues, they should also be able to scan the QR code in the APP but paper is easier to find and hand over.
