Only if you wear the shorts.
Its doddle on a river compared to the sea.
We're at Sangatte Aire and had a potter to the beach with the doggies, it was fairly windy and someone was out on a paddle board going over the small waves, very impressive.

You could have warned me about the disco on the camp site next door.
I thought you liked a bit of dancing Lenny! Get over the fence and boogie on down ... just leave your shorts in the van though so as not to shock the campers.😁

It's not easy on the sea, first time I tried on inland water it was a real surprise how easy it was.

gordon bennett, have you both got hollow legs, that would feed me for a week! does look good though..

.
I've sussed why Lenny is eating so much, he DOES have hollow legs so needs to fill them with more ballast so his centre of gravity will be lower and he'll be more stable on the paddle board! 😆

After her achievement I suggested we go for a light lunch like yesterday. That was meet with a surprisingly high level of resistance.

So I'm now sitting here starving eating bread & cheese with a few beers to numb the pain.
I wouldn’t mention the new Carthago today then!

Probably an ideal time to mention it after all he is saving all that dosh by not eating out so.
Funnily enough I was thinking that if he'd stopped all the meals out he'd have been able to buy one years ago! 😆

A bonus this morning they don't bother to collect any payment for the Aire during the week at this time of year.

Great start this morning a great paddleboarding session then it all went downhill.

Managed to scratch the sill at the service only a little scratch just annoying and puts you in a bad mood.
Then we set off for Blaye as so many Funsters mention and say how good it is.
Bad move getting around Bordeaux was a nightmare, 1½ hour journey took 3 hours.

Parked up at the Chateau could have parked in the grounds for free but only one space left and that was in shade, we wanted some sunshine so we are in the brand new municiple Aire right opposite.
A bit expensive €6.60 Inc EHU but the Chateau will refund up to two nights if you have the meal & tour at €35 each or buy €50 of wine.
'er indoors would rather pay the 6.60 so Lenny is going to have to starve.

One redeaming feature 30° when we arrived now 7:30 getting cold dropped to 27°.

The Chateau Aire and the new one opposite.

The Chateau is one of our favourite Aires. Free and includes EHU, water and dump. Nice views over the vines. Stayed the maximum 2 nights on our way down and 2 nights on our way back. Free wine tasting. I was feeling so guilty that I bought a bottle of their cheap one which is a nice light coloured "Clairet" suitable for chilling. So it worked out at about £2 per night (y) .

The lunch in the Chateau is good and includes separate wines for each course. If you want something cheaper we can recommend the €14 Menu du jour at La Marina in the town. It was a good sign when we arrived at 12:30 and got the last table. All the rest were locals. Lovely food, and the young waitress spoke good English.

Stayed on the municipal site too as we wanted to stay a third night going down. Huge Aire with 90 spaces. The only problem is that there is only one Bourne and the flow of water is slow. A big queue developed in the morning for filling up. Fortunately no worry for us as I had done a couple of watering cans runs the evening before.

A bit of a late dinner tonight didn't sit down to eat until 9:15 still on Spanish eating times got some strange looks from the French.

How about this a Toad in the Hole cooked in a TecTower oven.
