Lenny's Looking for Some Sunshine

Toad in the Hole cooked in a TecTower oven
Did you start cooking it yesterday?😂😂

With our one I find if you double or treble the normal cooking times it’s about done🙁
Had it on yesterday and it was only up to 100 after about 20 minute, did have the gas BBQ going at the same time though!

The secret is to lubricate the hinges with hi temp ceramic grease then the door closes properly and it works well.

Our's too, over 2 hours for a pre cooked cottage pie, useless🙄

It took about 45 min compared to a domestic oven at 25 to 30 min.

Was it the K2, I think that's what I used.
This one.

Ceramic Grease, 80ml

  • Higher specification than current copper grease
  • Protects against seizure, heat, corrosion and acid water
  • Operates from -20°C to 1500°C

I must have missed something I thought your good lady had said a firm”No” to a new van, regardless of the make
Has she relented😄?

If u buy their wine make sure u drink it an a short space of time.
It tasted wonderful at the tasting and so we splashed out on half a dozen bottles. At the price I expected it to last a couple of years for special occasions but the last bottle went in the casserole.

Oh dear, we have been caught out a few times, taste wonderful at the time with the atmosphere but not so good when you get home.

Underfloor storage is crap compared to Carthago, one big box rest is filled with pipes & cables.
Definitely need a Carthago then. We have oodles of space so my kayak & all the kit for it goes in a side locker along with the BBQ, canister stove, large toolbox, external screens etc.

Hey, you’re going to be in big trouble with Lenny’s wife, encouraging him to buy a Carthago 🤣

Don't rub it I, got 'er I doors interested in the 144, I would rather go a bit smaller.

A bonus this morning they don't bother to collect any payment for the Aire during the week at this time of year.

Great start this morning a great paddleboarding session then it all went downhill.

Managed to scratch the sill at the service only a little scratch just annoying and puts you in a bad mood.
Then we set off for Blaye as so many Funsters mention and say how good it is.
Bad move getting around Bordeaux was a nightmare, 1½ hour journey took 3 hours.

Parked up at the Chateau could have parked in the grounds for free but only one space left and that was in shade, we wanted some sunshine so we are in the brand new municiple Aire right opposite.
A bit expensive €6.60 Inc EHU but the Chateau will refund up to two nights if you have the meal & tour at €35 each or buy €50 of wine.
'er indoors would rather pay the 6.60 so Lenny is going to have to starve.

One redeaming feature 30° when we arrived now 7:30 getting cold dropped to 27°.

The Chateau Aire and the new one opposite.

Stayed there on our way home. Where the 1st row of vans are in the chateau grounds. Bought a nice bottle of red. Found a lovely little restaurant with menu de jour for 14 euros of the main drag. It was packed on a Tuesday lunchtime.

The Chateau is one of our favourite Aires. Free and includes EHU, water and dump. Nice views over the vines. Stayed the maximum 2 nights on our way down and 2 nights on our way back. Free wine tasting. I was feeling so guilty that I bought a bottle of their cheap one which is a nice light coloured "Clairet" suitable for chilling. So it worked out at about £2 per night (y) .

The lunch in the Chateau is good and includes separate wines for each course. If you want something cheaper we can recommend the €14 Menu du jour at La Marina in the town. It was a good sign when we arrived at 12:30 and got the last table. All the rest were locals. Lovely food, and the young waitress spoke good English.

Stayed on the municipal site too as we wanted to stay a third night going down. Huge Aire with 90 spaces. The only problem is that there is only one Bourne and the flow of water is slow. A big queue developed in the morning for filling up. Fortunately no worry for us as I had done a couple of watering cans runs the evening before.
Ah snap we had the same experience at La Marina. Packed by 12.30 on a Tuesday but they squeezed us in. Lovely 3 courses.

Only if you wear the shorts.
Its doddle on a river compared to the sea.
We've just been sitting having a drink watching a poor chap spending more time in the water than on the board. Respect to those with perfect balance.

School of life lesson.... Practice paddle boarding in isolation, not on a crowded beach.

Or make a 'wobble' support for it so you can try to get your balance well-tuned at home.
