Its been beautiful here. Ive had 10 days of sunshine. Not going out in this weather, been in the van all day with the heating on.
He reckons motor needs to go back to Bosch, got him to take the covers off the motor and check the connections he sent me photos. Only charging €20 would have cost twice that in the UK just to plug it in for the diagnostics.
Try sierra bernia , if you haven’t alreadyWe nearly caught up with you, we parked at Alfafara Friday and went walking in the hills this being one on Saturday.

If I had the dosh I’d have it, it’d be far far easier to throw another gearbox in than do all your electrikery stuff on the van!!Yep but got my old traction control problem back. Only just made it out of the car park.

Just for anyone else stopping at Guadalest ( or Benidorm actually) cracking little motorcycle museum just down the road some real rareties and should be Ok to park mhThen onto Castell de Gaudalest, across steep mountain roads.
Comfomatic gearbox decides to have a wobbly, halfway round a hairpin on a a 1 in 6 we stop moving with message on the dash "no gears available" Holy sh*t quick change of trousers, turn engine off and restart all OK apart from my nerves.
Get to our destination then all sorts of messages and warning lights I've never seen before. Sod that let's find a bar for a drink. Felt better after that.
Get out of the van me thinks this looks familar, yep been here before.
It gets worse after dinner start watching F1 and that falls over even though I've got a good 4G signal.

This is why i prefer older vehicles. You look in scrap yards these days and most of the cars are rust free and look great . Because its mostly electrical faults with the millions of sensors etc that cause then to fail. Many of which are fitted to achieve these crazy emission targets etc.Electronics again!!! - They call this progress?
I had to spend about £1500 on my car gearbox solely down to electronics, there was nothing wring with the oily bits, If I had been in Morocco I could have had them cut a hole in the floor and weld a stick onto it.

And if it was a electronics person the cost to repair would be 50 p for the parts, the issue is that no garage has the ability to repair the electronic units, they just swap them for a new one……, sad really, there must be a huge market for electronic engineers who can actually repair somethingElectronics again!!! - They call this progress?

That's the way it is now . I remember in the 90's removing alternators, starter motors etc and taking them to rt bar in Dunfermline for repair. They would fix it in a day for around £10..Exactly this. Some 20 years ago we would remove defective relays etc. from PCBs and solder on new components, that would cost at most a couple of £ plus labour for customers.
We then had warnings from our trade body about the liability for any further failures (even not relating directly to our work) and how the consequences would affect our insurance and us legally. Upshot was that we were unable to continue with it and were forced to supply the complete manufacturer supplied units at a cost of many £ hundreds to the customer. Now that PCBs contain multiple microchips and electronic components rather than simple relays, diodes, etc. it’s a total non-starter anyway. Throw away society at it’s worst I guess.
Don't remember.is that the "sore subject" you mentioned when we met Lenny?.
I’ll give ya £15k…Yep but got my old traction control problem back. Only just made it out of the car park.
