Lenny's heading South yet again

Now at a smashing free camper stop at Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón.

For Tam's Northernraider benifit 30° today but a bit chilly up here only 27°

Does Spain have the equivalent of the French Relais (Truck stops)?
Not that I'm aware of, just choose a restaurant in a small town or if in a big one off the main tourist spots but I expect you know that.

Yesterday's meal we were within 200m of the cathedral but in a side street, if we had eaten in the square by the cathedral one course would have cost the same as our 3 courses with wine.

Went around to the other side of the Lagoon to Los Alcazares.
Super free camper stop even got some shaded bays.

A bit of a problem the land between the stop and the lagoon is military so no access. Also road a bit noisy and near an airport so only stopped for lunch and had a walk to town and along the prom.

A disused military base nearby was a seaplane base from 1915 until the civil war.

We’ve missed you by a day, we left LA on Monday 😜 That camper stop you stayed at used to be the bus depot, not that I’ve ever seen a bus there.

Yes we like La Manga, beautiful marina where a Spanish friend from Madrid kept his boat. There are some almost abandoned hotels but few and far between. We were at the opposite end of the peninsula at Lo Pagan on Monday.

The pud looks like home made Pan de Calatrava, one of my favourites. I had it last Sunday at a friends.
It was a cheese cake definitely home made absolutely delicious very rich loads of cream in it.

As I'm still supping beer and 'er indoors is in bed so I'll put some pics of the village up.

Don't you just love it when you are looking for somewhere to stop on route and somewhere with a bit of interest and you end up in a little gem. Fabulous camper stop with service free of course and a gem of a village.

Sorry Judith jumartoo I shouted obscenities at the satnav as it tried to take me through the village and just escaped before getting stuck.

How do you forget about a roast chicken?
Quite easy when you are a Lenny, vacuum packed, use by date 20th May. We were woundeing what to eat as we didn't want to wait until 9 o'clock for restaurants to open, then found it by accident.

A bit of change had some of that wet suff and it's been cold, first daytime wet stuff since we have been away.
The sun's back now and temps increasing.

Went up to the old town even paid to go in the cathedral (well it was raining).

Now about 30 km up the road, all on our own, might be a bit cold tonight as we are up at over 4600 ft, forecast 2-3° at 6am.
