That’s how I make the shampoo. Although they don’t need curing they have to dry out for a while.
Friend came over today and we made sea glass pictures from bits of glass I’ve collected while walking the dogs. Mine is supposed to look like cacti. hmmmmm. Not sure it does.

My little grandaughter says it's a picture of a little girl falling over. :)

Janine, is it cheeky for me to ask you where you got the 'on offer' pattern from please? Understand if you don't want to say.

This is my next 'project' . Any tips would be appreciated .. re glue etc.

The crochet hare? It was a National Trust kit - there are a couple for sale on eBay.

I can absolutely see Eden’s ‘girl falling over’!

I feel embarrassed posting my attempt at crochet but this is the farthest I’ve ever got !
It’s not square and I’m not sure what I’ve missed. All advice welcome. I was following the Bella Coco video.

Not sure where you went wrong but usually the corners have two ‘clusters’ with 3ish chains between.

The corners on the next row are worked between the corner clusters of the previous row.

Does that make sense?

I see what you mean ( I think). My corners don’t have any gaps to make the next row into.
I’ll try again tomorrow. I thought it might be easier if I changed colour after each round?

I promise @Hollyberry my initial attempts were very similar and for a long time. I kept starting, undoing - trying again.

Practice really does make better if not perfect. The more you do the more consistent your tension will be which also makes a huge difference to the look.

Help ...

Re stone painting... Given a few of these out to friends .. two of them VERY 'special' ..

Just gone to a friend .. thankfully not a special stone ... and I used the same paint pens, I lacquered it twice, nothing different... the paint has disappeared!!!!

The only difference is I used a shell instead of a stone .. (@Debs) ... could this for some reason be why?

I don't want to do any more in case it happens again. :(

Also, are Sharpie pens as good as paint?

@Holllyberry. You only need to unpick a few stitches. The first row is correct - 4 groups. Second row correct showing the distinct 4 corners. On the third row you work a corner (3 trebles 2 chain 3 trebles) then 1 chain 3 trebles 1 chain into space. You are then ready to work another corner and proceed in this way to the end of that row. Slip stitch to first stitch of the row.

If you have got this far you will see a pattern emerging for future rows.

Good Luck

sorry Joy I've no idea, perhaps @Jenben @Granjan or @CWH might have an idea...... all I've done is hand the stones over, never really got round to sit and paint them.

I think shells will be more porous than stones - perhaps lacquer it before painting?

@movan , Sharpies you can buy in the UK aren’t the same as US bought Sharpies. We found asimilar problem on crockery.

Thanks all... :( Sincere apologies to anyone I gave stones to should the paint disappear ...

@Carol I think you used Sharpies..

Hi Joy, just seen your post, I hope the other stones you did are ok they were lovely, no I never use sharpie's only ever use acrilic paint, or special acrilic pens, so ot come across it.

@Hollyberry that's the square I'm doing for my purple throw. I found it was a little curled up when finished so I've put two chains instead of one. Its squarer and flatter now.

@Anthea M that's brilliant. Where on earth did she get Parma Violets? Are they still freely available because I've not seen them for years. Tell @Chrysalis Alice well done from me!

Sorry for the tardy response. I think the problem is that shell is more porous . We had the same problem last year as Angela @Mrs Badknee was using shell. We reckoned we should have used a primer on the surface to prepare it before painting.

and I am back to knitting socks! This time for one of my sons and his wife who drew round their feet, took a few measurements and sent the cartoons to me (I am told that the drawing is called a cartoon and who am I to argue?)

Going to have a night away tonight as I need a break. Dad is going for a brain scan late afternoon, Mum has said they are getting a taxi there and back.

@Puddleduck the socks sound interesting look forward to the photos. Hope all goes well for your Dad.

If I google all I get are scented cashew nuts.

LOVE the hares .. beautiful.
