Learn to crochet?

are the scented cachews similar to floral gums?
have found aromatics, brown and pink, in one of those 'old fashioned' sweet shops.

"Learn to Crochet" again this morning at the Big C. Two of the beginners had learning difficulties but were very keen to learn. I found it very challenging but great fun. Now nursing a headache!!!. My other pupil is at a more advanced stage so we spent some time learning how to understand/interpret crochet patterns and she was introduced to half trebles and double trebles on the way to making a complicated snowflake type motif. Also challenging, trying to keep ahead of the pupil  No more crochet lessons for a while, returning to patchwork for a bit with the original members of the group.

Oh My gosh is he gorgeous or just GORGEOUS.

Would definitely have a go .

This is my 2inch needle felt teddy.

It’s not square and I’m not sure what I’ve missed. All advice welcome. I was following the Bella Coco video.
Sorry I can't help, I've never crocheted squares, I learnt to crochet making octopals.

Have you heard @davanne has a baby granddaughter so all the lovely things she has made are ready for when she sees the little one. 7lbs 13 ozs if I've remembered correctly and the name ..... Ava Rose. Anne is that Ava as Ahva or Ayva? Just curious.

HELP .... why are my crochet circles suddenly coming out like Chinaman's hats? They never used to. :(

I can’t remember whether I have already posted this photo of a mandala shrug that I made a few years ago.

It was crocheted in a fine wool and I gave it to a friend who loved it....... until she put it on a hot cycle in the washing machine.

I am not sure which of us was more upset :(

I'd have wanted to kill her

I've finished my jacket, made with some of the Aldi yarn. No pattern just made up as I went along. I made the sleeves as tubes on a circular needle, two at a time on the same needle. The fronts and back and front edge were done as one with steeks at the armhole openings. It's the first time I've steeked and as I made the openings at the knit and natter group there were some wild eyes and indrawn breath (not jsut from me) as I started to cut :) It does appear to have worked out well.

Shall we form an orderly queue

Sat in my van, I thought I would see what the Aldi yarn cakes that I bought a couple of months ago were like.

Not knowing how far the yarn would go, I am making a C2C (corner to corner- google it!) rug. This means that I can do the increases until I get to the end of one ball and then do the decreases with the other.

The yarn is 80% acrylic 20% wool and is quite chunky.

Not sure about the colours, but it is making up nicely.

Well, this is a pile of crap!

I undid what I had done and took out the maroon colour because it didn’t work at all.

Redid it and there are random splashes of colour which make it look dirty.

In the pile of ufo’s it goes. (ufo=unfinished object)

I have sent a message to Aldi - let’s see if they reply.

I can’t imagine the kids that work at our local store would be very interested.
