Just an update on where we are going.

Well it didn't rain and we got out ok (y) we have had a full day driving today easy on the motorway, no waggons, and we have been doing 70 to 80 mph all the way and the old van is still averaging over 33 to the gallon.
Anyway, this will want some believing, we are here in menton, about 5 mile from the camp, so incredible as it may seem we are on another CCP tonight, as we weren't planning on going to the site till Tuesday, as wait for it, it's £30 a night so a couple of night on this one will save getting on for 40 quid even at 12 euros.

Yes it's going to cost £150 ,a kings ransom, but it is the only time we will be on a site in the month so we don't want to be adding nights at that money we have been 3 times before and love it and it will probably be the last time now so got to make the best of it. (y) ;)

Good for you. Can’t take it with you so get it spent.

Just wear shades when paying to hide the tears 🥳🥳

Pray do tell us which site has managed to decipher the code to unlock the wallet. Must be something special

One to make note of for the future. Thanks

Looked at a route there from where we are and one was via Geneva, Mont Blanc tunnel and a Turin etc. a very posh route indeed.
Now where’s my Tux 🤵‍♀️
Yes we did that route in our first old van, a converted ldv van bought unseen off eBay 12 years ago , bought it and did getting on for four thousand miles in it within 3 months down to Pisa and back into Spain, loved that van then we went upmarket with a "proper" motorhome but never enjoyed the freedom of the old van so built this one along the same lines as the first, and no going back.

That’s what is great about this, so many variable ways to do things and always one that suits what you want. We are all different and like different things.

I would have went back to tugging on retirement, but the boss put motorhoming in my mind and god I’m so glad she did. 🥳🥳

The wandering mindset is what counts. For everyone, The rig is just our rig for us. Brilliant 👍👍

Well we are here today.

Got to admit it's a damn good site, got everything even showers in another building, easy flat walk into the old town with a great big cathedral right in the middle and little narrow streets just wide enough to walk down, numerous cafes and bars , supermarket, and everything you could want, hell of a drive up from menton though, had to reverse back on one corner.

Got to say the showers are shut ,I had seen folks going across with towels but on having a look it's just washing sinks :(

Came into town this morning, had a couple of coffees at the nearest bar , here again now and the same girl is still working so we asked for a white wine and a red, she up and says, don't have the red here it's rubbish but don't tell my boss I said .
So we have got two whites now , no dearer than the coffee.
Brilliant.

Sounds like a great find, enjoy
Take it from me, I have been the biggest critic of these sites on here and I still think the prices are going to rocket in the future but this one is everything you could want and at 12.50 euros you couldn't complain at anything, in the shade or open if you want, electric, water, emptying, WiFi right on the town, even I have walked it twice today, just can't fault it.

Camping-car Park network is growing each year. Great value for money when you take into account what you get. Hopefully you have downloaded their App. Gone up a few Euros over the years, but still cheap. Glad to see you have been converted.

Not wholly converted, ok for now, they have everything here and more that you could find on any club site in England for a third of the price, but how long is it going to stay at this price.
Not long after they get a monopoly of them I would say.
Btw how do the club's justify their prices compared to these?

I like and use CCP's and not a great user of campsites but I will say that most of them don't really compare to campsites. Most are just car parks with electric, water, waste and porr WiFi. They are not somewhere I would stay more than a couple of nights.

While I would'nt jump at paying £30 a night you do usually get toilets and showers plus a slightly better surroundings/pitch in a campsite.
