Jane & Rog’s retirement tour, Morocco 2023

Thanks very much for taking the time you have to do this blog,I think this is only the second time I have posted anything (technophobe 😂),as someone else said I’m always mooching,to see what’s going on,and recently have gone to your blog first,it’s been so interesting and I have also been trying to convince the wife to go.
I was surprised today to see you were back in Spain, but I also think you have done the best thing, safe trip home and all the best to your dad

A fantastic travel blog - thank you! Like many others, I've read this daily. Your wonderful story-telling, fabulous photos and refreshing honesty have made this an addictive thread. Can't wait to hear what you get up to next.

Really enjoying your travel blog but can I just say that Morocco is not the only place that you can get Gris wine, we also like it and have been buying it for many years. 😉

Can’t wait for your next adventure!!
Your storytelling is unrivalled , as a previous poster said no politics, no chip on your shoulder and just what this forum should be.
I don’t post very often but I just have to say thank you. All the best for your dad.

Many thanks for taking the time to write up about your travels, would like to try Morocco but Mrs CC is not convinced you show a very clean and safe experience the opposite of what she thinks it’s like☹️

Excellent thread and thank you for not straying from your travel talk and going on about political crap like other threads do very refreshing 😁😁
🤣 I too would like to try Morocco but Mrs DPS is the same, and is concerned about our dog and the safeness of letting it run on the beaches 👍

To be fair most of this trip makes it look safer than going away in the UK😂😂

Also having 2 Jack Russell’s on board would not be good for the local wildlife😂😂

Thanks for the great thread, it’s on our to do list when retirement comes next year. Our only worry is Toby our Jack Russell is scared of chickens 😂😂 wouldn’t want him being chased.

Hope your dad has a lovely birthday.

The importing of a dog/s into Morocco, and going through the correct channels as you did, when you returned all the electronic paperwork was correct.
If you decide to not go through the correct channels, would the outcome been different?
Whilst we followed your advise and did use the PIF office, we assume the amount of data collected was placed online, and I assume checked online. That could be why they did not have to take further checks on the physical documents you had on hand.
If folk want to not go through the PIF route, please post as we all could save the expense.
But not sure we would take the chance? would you?

Well what an anti-climax😮all the Dog research, all the documentation, all the MONEY it cost, all the stress of gathering everything together so your were all set on Doggy business and what happens Flynn gets ignored….only kidding a fabulous finish to an enjoyable trip for l think everyone.
Looking forward to the next instalment.
Safe and pleasant jaunt home.

I know! I almost wanted to call them over and say, please check all these lovely docs out. But then I thought again…

No, I’m totally with you there. Even if you’re wrong about them knowing we had the export certificate (and I actually think you could be correct), I’d never take the chance. Even if it’s just a spot check, who’d be on the wrong side of it?

I’ve really enjoyed reading about your travels. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

Jane And Rog
When I started this Motorhoming lark, I had two ambitions. 1. to get a dog and 2. to travel the UK because I'd been very lucky to travel the world in my work & had numerous holidays in Europe but knew little of my home nation.

It's been your blog that has made me contemplate the paperwork hassles of travelling with a dog to somewhere like Morocco [I'm really not bothered about France/Spain].

I probably won't, but thank you for sparking my imagination.

Jane And Rog
I have so enjoyed your posts. I can honestly say it's the first time that I have religiously read every post in a "Travel" thread. It has been both informative and entertaining. I hope you post about future journeys. Best wishes also to your Dad for his 90th birthday.

It made me realize how much of Morocco I missed when I drove through during the 2005 Plymouth to Banjul banger rally. We had got held up while we changed a gearbox just north of Gibraltar. Once it was fixed, we caught the 6.0am ferry to Tangier and drove non-stop 800km to Agadir, arriving at gone midnight. The next day, quite by chance, we met up with some other competitors at a petrol station and we drove the rest of the way in a group of 8.

Thanks - where is that from? Probably being slow but I can’t work it out :)
France, it’s the only box left from our one day shopping trip into France from Spain last September, oh and a couple of bottles of Cote du Rhône village. 😜

Hi Jane And Rog, really enjoyed this thread, good pics also. Look forward to your no nonsense “warts and all” reporting in the future👍😁
Ignore the detractors, there’s always the ignore button for the serial w*nkers😏

There is one thing, I didn't call anyone a w....ker.
Just said it as I see it.

Is that really necessary.?

This is a forum site, a place where people freely express ideas and opinions. The advice that you can get on here is hard to beat, in my opinion, others may hold a different one which is fine. If that's not what you want then maybe you should find one that better suits you.

I don’t think any comments which HAVE clearly caused concern were necessarily meant with malice (or anything else) and the author(s) are free to express their opinions, but we must all be cognisant that what we write, may be perceived differently by the people and persons who are living the situation.

I really think the somewhat vitriolic post form you is misguided support for our pair of campers, but at worst, is an attempt to oxygenate the embers! Someone rightly said yesterday that we should drop this… let’s do just that!

Please can we keep this on topic: specifically how nice Jane’s writing is and how fashionable my new hat is (more photos are available). The thread was a nice thing that people liked but it was about our trip to Morocco let’s not risk invoking Godwin’s Law and giving it an unhappy postscript.

This.. the last few pages have had very little to do with what started out as a very interesting thread.

I have really enjoyed your thread and photos (y) we went to Morocco pre van days and really enjoyed it. It’s definitely made me think it would be a great place to visit in the van.

I’d actually be interested in a bit about Spain too … 💞
