It's autumn in Spain, we're on the road again

Stars??

We should be getting the van back soon. We've had daily progress reports and photos, and it does look like it's been improved. Only when we see it for real will we know. We're going to tart up the inside now as well. I've got some curtains to make and some sticky tiles for the kitchen area. With some more new mats it should look a bit more colourful. We may even have it reupholstered.

Martin's tasks won't make any difference visually, but hopefully we're reducing the weight by removing some unused items. Lots of duplicate tools and electrikery, the TV, heavy gas bottles, satellite and, maybe, the spare wheel and just carry a tyre.

We're going to weigh it empty when we get it back and before we start to refill it and then decide what we can keep.

We'll soon be on the road again 🎊🎊

Were you overweight?
We once weighed ours on a short trip 350 over!
Open our eyes.
Don’t know what it weighed and a return from a winter trip?
With all the goodies!

We weigh our van regularly and we're normally OK but the last time we weighed it, it was much heavier than usual for some reason. Maybe the Weybridge was out 😂. Martin would like to carry his inflatable canoe in the summer so we need to make an allowance for that.

Just to expand on what Judith has said...our van is generally below 3500kg...but eBikes make it quite close...as does the additional 230amp Lithium...
There are some easily achievable options...some have been scheduled...first...take out the 2 full size Gaslow...replace with 1 lightweight refillable and 1 buffer exchangeable cylinder...these I have...both Butane and Propane...afterall a second re-fillable rarely gets used for long periods...before finding a LPG outlet....dead weight in my opinion...I also have a 6kg Repsol lightweight...this will make an ideal summer buffer.
At some point our Oyster Sat system will be taken off...we have unlimited data in our van, so TV is provided by a Firestick into a wall mounted monitor...
The spare wheel may come out, tyre removed and carry just this....we have 365 day breakdown service on our vehicle insurance...so a tyre fitting option may be a better solution in the event...no way am I willing or capable of changing a wheel ..
Travelling with just sufficient water in the tank and half a diesel fill, should give us enough kilos spare to include my summer canoe...
If not...we will have a rethink...🤔🇪🇦

Edit...It's 3 Kings day today...our second Christmas...no gifts or other festivities for us....we've had enough of that..😀🌲🥳🥳🤔
