It's autumn in Spain, we're on the road again

Martin took the van to a weighbridge on the way back yesterday. With half a tank of water, two almost full, heavyweight, gas bottles (plans are already in motion to change to lightweight), bizarrely (well according to the gauge) half a tank of waste water and a third of a tank of diesel. Still carrying the spare wheel and still with the satellite on the roof. It weighed in, without us, at 3240. So, with those items removed, we're not likely to go over 3500. There may yet be space for the canoe 🤣

It’s surprising how much you put into your van.

Just packing ours up for our trip now.

Using a 4 wheel wheel barrow type transporter to take all our (*hit) essentials to the van.

Luckily or not we have over 3.5 tonne to play with, except when we chose to ignore said weight and say we are a Campervan 😀 and those rules don’t apply.

It was surprising how much we took out. It's not all going back in. When we load the van with food for a trip it's surprising just how heavy that is.

Emptying the van is giving us the opportunity to streamline the contents 🙂. We never need everything we take with us.

Haven’t read this thread since being in Morocco as I’m trying to keep my data down so hadn’t seen the paint job…

It looks great and more rugged almost 4x4 type of vehicle… a new lease of life. I’m going to get the front of mine done in moroc and I’m looking at doing the upholstery too soon…

Looks like you have a new van guys…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Is it or is there a special paint that reduces sun damage I wonder..🤔

We empty the van, almost completely, between trips and definitely over the winter months Judith, but like you we are always surprised at what we take.

Far too much really but we have clothes/shoes for every occasion and when city sightseeing, which we enjoy, we like to go dressed up so to speak 😜 I’m grateful Sharon does all the ironing whilst away of the things that do need ironing.

We used to carry a full sized iron and a small board in the last van, because we could, now it’s a travel iron and an ironing mat. Lounging chairs and dining chairs etc, now just one pair. We still carry crockery/cutlery for four for visitors as I enjoy cooking and we like to chat and only drink wine alcohol from proper glasses 😜.

It all adds up, unfortunately but as of this weekend we are loosing the bikes ☹️

Take the bikes and lose the iron and ironing board 😂.

I don't iron anything, except when we get something new, like curtains, that need the creases removing. I've just made some curtains for the van and I've ironed them.

We've just had a morning in the van. I've stuck on some imitation tiles in the kitchen area and a row in the bathroom and Martin's wrestled with the new gas bottles. Getting two full size ones in is a problem because of where the regulator is situated, so we've got a lightweight refillable and a 6 kilo lightweight Repsol in the locker at the moment. It should be OK, but we'll find out when we next get away.

We've got a few more things to do on the van and then we'll have a short, local trip away.

My brother said 2pac paint. We didn't try to get the guy to use that here 👍

Need to take van to nearest garage with LPG tomorrow, we have a few nearby, the new lightweight re-fillable will have its first fill, watching the pump meter to ensure the shut off valve does it job.. I will purge the air before filling...
Making progress on other jobs...took Avtex TV out and sold it locally on Facebook...as I've written before...a Firestick connected to a monitor is all we need...light too.
Oyster might be next to take off....no TV, shall I convert to directional Solar...not sure, but it's an interesting idea..

Filled up LPG....all went well especially the pump shutting off at 80% full...
Put new rear view camera on...yet to be wired as the new wiring doesn't marry up with existing ones..
Few small jobs left to do and we might jet off into the Spanish countryside...🇪🇦🚴🏿🚴🏿olé

Missed your post yesterday, for the first fill you should only fill to 30-50%.

Is this to displace the air inside the cylinder Lenny?
That has been achieved successfully before I filled up...can you suggest another reason please...😃

It's a cold, cold morning here in Murcia...but a warm, warm apartment keeps us snug.
More work planned for this morning on the van...with it being so cold I might just click on the Truma and do a few inside tasks...the new camera still needs connecting up...and a general...put everything back where it should be.
Not forgetting to secure the tyre to the old spare wheel fixing now they are divorced from each other...that's adding a good few kilos to our payload...as is taking out the two heavy Gaslow ....off for lunch with two Norwegian Friends ...This should be a relaxing day...😀🇪🇦🤔

A few upgrades/improvements in the van(y)
Was new to you guys? As per plates is maybe 2013 registered? Just curious.
The van was built in Germany and registered in the UK by the previous owner in 2006
It was imported into España in 2013...that's how the registration shows its year..
Nothing wrong with being curious Peavy..🇪🇦😀

Well the van is ready to roll, apart from food. We're just waiting out a day or two of damp weather and then we may be out for a few weeks.

Yesterday we rode from home. There's a fairly new signposted trail, parts of which we've already ridden. Yesterday we followed another stage and rode through areas we didn't know existed. The route is Sendero Campoder GR257. Yesterday's stage is not recommended after rain. There are some wet sections even now.

The church in the tiny hamlet of Gañuelas. We've seen it signposted but never been there.

Off today....just an hour away from Base Jumar, but a little different landscape...
My YT eBike Forks are still receiving attention by a local technician and getting sorted under warranty ...a slight oil leak may be seen as trivial...but it's not right ..these Forks sell at 750€ so they have to perform.
I will be taking my reserve bike which is just over a year old...
Ordered new Specs yesterday...current ones do not help much....together with a bit of an infection...I need to see my way around....not a problem whilst biking...I have purpose made cycling glasses....
Lots of adjustments made to van, which need a full field test... new lightweight re-fillable gas has had the leaks corrected...old O rings replaced... everything else fine....Judith has re-furbished the interior..made new curtains and put down a few new mats, adding a bit of colour....not forgetting the stick on tiles around the kitchen....looks quite fresh...
Still in the lookout for a Hymer size roof vent...800mmx500mm...ours has suffered over the past 19 years...🙄😃🇪🇦🚴🏿🚴🏿

I hope your sight improves and the infection goes away, Martin.
Regarding the roof vent, you need to change just the glass or the whole thing?
...or a roof vent it's not the same thing as a normal skylight?
Probably you've already seen it, but is this maybe what you're looking for?
