It's autumn in Spain, we're on the road again

Not sure electric gear changing is what I want, didn't even know this model had it...more to go wrong I could say.
The Canyon hardtail bike I bought last year came with ABS braking...just how crazy is that...and even crazier when a fault threw up...this put the motor into limp mode...I could have been in a remote location KMs from anywhere....but the bike said don't ride...🙄
Paul has the electric shifting. He really likes it but obvs just remember to charge the batteries and I think he has an emergency spare. Enjoy the new bike. I like the colour and it doesn't look too much like an ebike which is what I like about our Levo SL's.

Looks like we can get away locally tomorrow...been to have a chat with a guy in Murcia who is going to do a little bodywork spraying for us,(On MH) so we go in the MH until 27th, then he has it for 10 days...
Will load the new bike, do a bit of shopping, top up the GPL and head into the hills for a non festive few days of Fun and Frolics.🥳🚴🚴🇪🇦

Well, the bank visit went very easily. The manager, Maria, was at her desk and with no queue. We left her with reams of Revolut statements. She signed Martin's Life Certificate and updated our address (they had three for us, including a UK one) and phone numbers, and created a pass code for me. All in all a satisfying visit. (We've since had confirmation that we're all above board and not money launderers).

We then had a flood in the kitchen. Not a bad one, luckily. Amazon cancelled delivery of a new tap so Martin had to go to Murcia to collect one. Yesterday I was a plumbers mate and, two new taps were fitted in the kitchen sink and are working with no leaks. We had to remove the dishwasher and it's not been reconnected yet because we won't need it until after Christmas because we're fitting in a seven day trip before the van then goes for its paintwork fettled.

So, as the trip is so short I'll not start a new thread, I'll just post on here.

So where are you heading!

So where are you heading!
Over the hills and not far away...having been at home for 10 whole days, and a new bike sat here in our apartment...we need a change of scenery....so...we expect to remain in our region of Murcia...Coy is just a short drive tucked away in the mountains...then perhaps we might move onto Caravaca...nice Camperstop, could be a good location for the 25th 🥳🌲

They look nice, the elevation is around 600 meters, does that make it much cooler?

It's going to be sunny, but much colder, but I'll be warm in my new hooded duvet jacket that Martin bought for me on the way back from the paint place 😊😘

Coy is a tiny village so we're hoping that it'll be quiet for the weekend. Caravaca is much bigger and is one of the major pilgrimage cities. It should be a good place to see some Christmas festivities, although the 25th isn't one of the main days here. We'll have to wait and see.

We've been to both places on a few occasions, but not at this time of year.

Like the colour??

I was going to ask if he got a discount as it was obviously the last one in the shop 'cos no one wanted it

How very dare you 🤣

It's Martin's pride and joy. He loves it anyway. The contour lines are protective stickers.

Yep. Got a huge discount, don't know if it was the terrible colour, or because the brakes didn't work or even the fact that it only came with one wheel...but it still remains a good bike..and I'm going to enjoy many hours and many KMs riding it...and if I don't like it, I'll give it to you...oh...just a mo, you don't like the colour...🤔😃😃😃😃😃🇪🇦🇪🇺

Arrived at first nights stopover...
Bright and sunny tad cool...we have our own Christmas tree next to the church...very rural village which will provide our first festive ride...lunch of Hake, Roast potatoes and asparagus is on the go...🌲🇪🇦

Lunch.

We didn't quite make it to Coy, instead we stopped off at the village of Aviles, where there are a multitude of routes. We're adjusting one of them tomorrow so we don't go into Coy. We can then ride from there on Sunday.

Different in each village, right? Sometimes around 22h are not that loud or just a single bell each hour until 7h.
I find fascinating even the fact that bells are not really tolling everywhere?

I think they rang all night, although I didn't hear them, except at 3.00. We're very close to them also.

I usually sleep verrrry well, so I must have last night.

Just when you think you know your local area fairly well, you suddenly find you don't know some parts at all. We rode through two small villages today that we've never seen before. The first had its market day today so we didn't stop, except to take a photo of their mural, and the second had a mural, and a Christmas tree at the church. There were lots of post boxes for Santa!

The last village, with the goose pond, we knew, and it wasn't far to ride back to the van from there.

First posing piccie.

We're now at the artificial beach of Coy. Football is on the TV and I'm posting on here.

Lunch was the leftover curry we had with Angéla (it had been frozen) and it was lovely.

How’s the new bike. 👍
A great ride... I've had a YT Decoy up to a year ago before selling it on. The EP801 is a very much improved motor and with the bigger capacity battery, the range is going to be nearer 200km in Eco mode.. although I tweaked the settings, a little less is expected...so 3 decent rides between charging is quite realistic I think.
Comfort is excellent the shoxs perform well, a few minor adjustments before tomorrow's ride, mainly repositioning of controls...the dropper lever is a nuisance with little room to adjust...Thanks for asking...fancy buying the same?
