Is there anyone who doesn't go to Benidorm?

You are a bunch of absolute heathens, the lot of you.
A few years ago we were at Benicassim, when Rita expressed a wish to visit Benidorm. I was dead against it, however I did the dutiful thing by making enquiries.
Camping Villasol appeared to be the best of the bunch, and the nearest to the beach/playa. They wanted a minimum of €60 at the time, which equated to 3 x nights, so thinking that would do, I paid up front.
Within an hour or two of arriving, we found ourselves in the company of fellow Funsters, most of whom we already knew from Rallies & Meets.
Our 3 x night stay developed into a 6 x week stay, but it was me who kept going to the site reception to extend, not Rita, and here we are again for our fifth year running, (pandemic years excluded). Many in our company have been coming for 10 x years or more............so we can't all be wrong. ;)
At this time of year, it's mostly folks in their 60s to 80s, (of all European nationalities), with hardly any signs of the hen parties and stag parties you would expect in the height of summer..........thank goodness. ;)

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

We took a day trip many years ago when stayed in Javea.

Not been in MHome, not even to Spain yet.

We went for a day on a bus from Albir. It had a good beach and we enjoyed tapas alley. It was all going quite well until an inflatable penis danced past leading a hen party.
We made our excuses and left.
Yes I would agree I bet the person wearing the penis was English 🤣

If you have not been, go to Tim Tok bar in Benidorm and meet Julie, the owner. She's a proper character. Tell he Trevor sent you. Hopefully she will have her new teeth by then.

They're all inflatable, aren't they? At least in principle.

Do you mean that he was inflated while he danced past?

That must have been quite an impressive fertility ritual

I get the impression from posters that the only parking is cam[sites.

If I am correct we will not be going.
There is a new Low Emissions Zone in Benidorm being implemented this year, so not sure if you will be allowed into the city !.

But just outside is a camperstop

Well this is our third year in Spain!
As for Benidorm loverly beach and usually nice sunshine,
Good points are it’s open all year if you want to go into town,
We tend to stay near Albir a couple of miles away and find it a bit more sedate without any big parties going on 👍
The middle of Benidorm is not for us after 6PM really much better just up the coast.
But still nice for a visit.

Just down from Villasol over New year there were probably 40+ vans parked up on the infill car park, most were there for a while. The area is now empty and blocked off. There are still quite a few vans parked up for the night on the roads. We use campsites but there are plenty of back street locations not far from the centre to safely overnight.

More than likely Steve, and definitely unlikely to have been Scottish, Northern Irish, or Welsh.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Been twice for the day about 40 years apart. Never in the winter though and never in the motorhome. It was OK for a day, but is not on my priority list for a return visit. I accept I may be doing it an injustice as we have several Funsters friends who are regulars each winter, but not really my cup of tea. ( Or Sangria)

Not at all an injustice each to their own tipple be it tea, even water.
But we thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon with 20+ Funsters on and in the Arena Blanca terrace and bar.:cheers:

First went 1969 from the proceeds of the lead we got off a building we were scaffolding to be demolished.
Been back several times, mostly in the last 20+ years as 1. sister has lived there all this time. 2. we had a villa at Busot near Campello so used to meet people who came to Benni.
Parts are ok.
And you ain't done Benni unless you have done the show at Benidorm Palace.
And you need more than 2 or 4 hours to take in the culture, history and pea men of Benni

Once went on the Tram from Alicante to see what it's all about. Glad we did as it told us we wanted to drive right past in when we were in the Motorhome.
