Wow didn't realise people went into debt over these. Some of us prefer a bit of luxury in our MH, especially when away for months chaser, ie, home from home.
By buying older but still quality, we've managed to do it without spending what we can't afford, and avoided getting into debt.
Cheers,
Jock.
Do ladies need a different size seat, ?
That’s exactly how we see ours, it’s like driving around in a mobile bungalow and when you’re in it for months away you need to be comfortable or we doWell I think it's a fab choice much better than a static.....more like a mobile cottage by the sea / mountains / lakes......
Glad to hear you’re back on the road, I think Theonlysue was at our meet in Portpatrick, if so we had a wee nosey in her van and loved it.
I’m sure it was a Hymer model was M somethingThat was probably three vans back
Sue has a reputation …..
Changes vans more than most
Yes contents maybe £5000 but they may just put all electronic stuff in a group to the value of £500 regardless of what was lost. I know from experience.Think my contents are around £5000 with Comfort but will check later.
Most expensive items are phones tablets etc, which are not top of the range. No Rolex and definitely not amounts of cash. If I pay more than £15 for a pair of trainers I feel robbed.
Your phone's and tablets are probably covered by your house insurance anyway. And I suppose your rolexs as well.Think my contents are around £5000 with Comfort but will check later.

They probably would have been covered had we got house insurance.Your phone's and tablets are probably covered by your house insurance anyway. And I suppose your rolexs as well.
As a matter of interest then, if you have a phone or camera or some similar item stolen out of a car or motorhome, what do you claim on , your house insurance (if you have it) your motor insurance or your phone insurance ( if you have it)They probably would have been covered had we got house insurance.
I’m not hijacking this post just answering somebody’s post.
It would have to be motor insurance of cause. As a matter of interest then, if you have a phone or camera or some similar item stolen out of a car or motorhome, what do you claim on , your house insurance (if you have it) your motor insurance or your phone insurance ( if you have it)
Yes mate ,I know your case is different I was just talking in general. It would have to be motor insurance of cause.
What I was meaning to say, was if you have house insurance which might cover your movable stuff and the rest comes under van insurance, it doesn't leave a lot for actual " contents" that aren't already covered under something else.Yes mate ,I know your case is different I was just talking in general.
REALLY? ThanksIf it is, I feel sorry for you
Unless it's your race vehicle for various marathons and ironman events across Europe and your wife likes to come but can't fly. It becomes your palace, your holiday home. Having spent times of my life homeless living in squats, I get your point but prefer a little luxury for my princess.A motorhome is somewhere to doss when touring around, the places you go to are the thing , what the van is like is neither here nor there as long as the bed is comfortable.
But you didn't ?I have had the best part of a bottle of red, so I am probably best loging out
Really? For who? For you? Jim chose to shut that down and you want to reopen it?But it's not about this , it's an extension of the Simon-Alan Kerr thread.
Yes mate ,I know your case is different I was just talking in general.

Have you made any alternative arrangements regarding your insurance re contents and belongings?
From memory your cover was only £500?
I was surprised to discover that NFU only cover us for £300 of contents as their MH insurance is based on a car policy.
I’m wondering if most of us are massively under insured with regards to contents
What are you on about, I didn't move the thread I was only answering others who had.REALLY? Thanks

You still here?
Would have thought you would have been in bed with a large hangover after your earlier posts and attempt to divert the thread in a direction that there was no need to take?
It was in fact haganap himself that started on about the motorhome that was the main argument in the other thread.Chaser, I may be wrong but I don't think the thread was moved.
