As I just said above #98 so I think you are stretching the truth on this oneI arnt bothered ,I am usually the one that gets the flak but just like to set the truth in place on this one.
What's this one about then?Well as many will know, We are back on the road.
There's a saying that things happen for a reason and nothing as strange as this one.
Never did I ever consider a hymer in 20 years, thought they were overrated and over here...but in a roundabout way I got involved with something maybe I shouldn't have and thanks to a lovely funster Theonlysue ended up buying hers even with the problems that need fixing.
I have to say I'm really really impressed, easy to say how good it is and people say you're only saying that because you own it... but it's right up there with my N&B for sure, and although it's a top of the range Hymer, better than the Carthago..
Insurance wise I simply transferred my policy with no issues and got a refund of 85 pounds? Not sure how that works..
I have air con, air suspension, full leveling you name it when it works it has everything and there's something very weird about sitting on a ceramic toilet in a motorhome, a new experience for me.
We've nicknamed it the Pig , because despite its luxurious persona I do think its pig ugly compared to the carthago.
I now have to call it the hymer and not the Motorhome, and yes the first extra I put in it yesterday was a fire extinguisher.
We threw some bits in it, put Betty in it and headed to Bolton Abbey caravan site, feel like we are to posh to for Cls and fields now..
Yep probably me getting mixed up with another thread about a dealershipThings seems to have become confused.
I had already abandoned it but then folks started getting on to me about things that were nothing to do with me, usually I just let these things go but I don't see why I should be accused of something he has done himself.
I wouldn't bother. As a matter of interest then, if you have a phone or camera or some similar item stolen out of a car or motorhome, what do you claim on , your house insurance (if you have it) your motor insurance or your phone insurance ( if you have it)
On my last coachbuilt even the cab radio wasn't covered unless you added it. I did for a value of 100€ , Nothing else was insured in the van.In a motorhome apart from them being trashed there isn't a lot worth nicking apart from your phone's, jewelry maybe a TV or radio, but just stuff you can carry about, not much use to your general thief, all the fixed stuff surely comes under the van insurance which is the main item, not contents.
Look on the bright side. You were under insured by at least 50% so I am amazed they didn't reduce the 3k insured value payout by 50% which is what they usually do?Thanks Robert.
A timely reminder to others.
My insurance contents cover were 3000 pounds. It's amazing how quick this goes.
This went on two North face ski jackets, 3 pairs of Hoka trainers 2 pairs of nikkis sketchers, two lakeland leather jackets we used on the scooter.
Just the above racked up 2k. When you take in your bedding accessories plates bowls and everything else is amazing how quickly it all adds up.
You also get £500 of audio cover, 2 avtex TVs budget gone before sat nav chargers phones stereo.
In total all inside came out at just short of 7k, but remember, it's not new for old.
Therefore by virtue of that we got 3.5k back.
As we are slowly replacing things it's evident that 3.5k doesn't cut it.
Some stuff thanks to a suggestion to wash in white vinegar was saved, but very little.
Morale us check your contents and make a decision.
yes I spotted that straight off. What's this one about then?
What's this one about then?
You already slated the dealer in the other thread.yep you are clearly confused. Must have been that Red wine.
My post was simple.
Clarity, Clarity that I was back on the road. Clarity about how I came to be back on the road thanks to a lovely lady funster that I started off to offer help to and ended up saying "balls" I'll buy the thing myself. Clarity about what van I have got which many would want to know.
read the post, no mention of any dealer, no mention of any dispute with any dealer and any disputes between them. Simply an Im back on the road with a van with a few issues that I need to sort. Not even a mention of any dealer not previously fixing them.
clearly you have taken two threads in to one- or made two and two come 3
If I wanted to slate the dealer, I would have and could have done. I didn't , I was merely letting all those wonderful people who know me and don't know me the conclusion to my issue that started several months ago.
If I could help anyone with insurance questions, then I would and have done.
So you clearly have read in to things that are not there.
enjoy your evening.
That was the other thread... not this threadYou already slated the dealer in the other thread.
actually, I never. I offered a balanced view in response to some comments? You chose to bring it to this thread? You really are making things up as you go along. there is nothing in this thread that relates to the dealer at all.You already slated the dealer in the other thread.
