Hi all.

Just arrived at mr and Mrs Lopez!!
Kettle on all good. Took me about 4 hrs,, I came on the E15 road, some of the scenery was stunning.. Will have a brew. Get sorted and chat in a bit !!

Out for a nice meal with Gus and Jackie tonight!! There non drinkers thank god!! so kidneys and stomache will get a much earned rest !! Lol.

Just started raining here a bit, shame it's been a good day !!

Gus is letting me stay tonight so that's nice,, and tomorrow I am giving him a hand with a bit of concreting on one of the terrace floors, one good turn deserves another,, lol.

Thanks again for all the wishes,, there were lots, I'm chuffed ! !!!

So today I'm going to do some concreting on a floor on one of Gus's terraces,, it should be a nice day, not too hot !!

So arrived here yesterday about 1 ish, met Jackie, Gus, had copious amounts of tea, talked all afternoon,( or at least I did, they couldn't get a word in) !!

Had a laugh,, got organised and went for a birthday Chinese in Lorca!! It was lovely,,

I can see the sun coming up now, which is my cue to get sorted, dressed, and run outside, get shovel from locker and sprint to the front door as enthusiastically as I can, letting Gus and Jackie know I'm up for a bit of graft!! Lolol. But only after 5 or 6 brews!!!

I'm sure it won't be all plain sailing today so I will let you know what's occurring later,,,,, have a lovely morning where ever you are!! Xxx ps

Whilst we were in Spain in Feb our oven door seized up (a known problem with the hinge apparently). We went into Caravanas Lorca to see if they could help. They took the hinge off and after lots of running between the workshop and our van to make minor adjustments to the hinge they sorted it. Took 4 hours, bill was 40 euros. We were happy. Whilst we were waiting there were lots of motorhomes arriving to have work done. I'm sure Gus knows about this place but just wondered if they could hep with some of the problems you have with your van.
 
bit concerned for you Ian, as its so long since you worked, it may be just too much for you. especially as you are now a year nearer to retiring age :rofl:

Dude,, get that out of your head babe!! Helga is perfect now, just new awning/ canopy thingy from uk and a gas service to check all is good, heating hot water all lovely. And nice and quiet!! And fridge perfect( but I do have to be near level) !! Now she's had oil change, both gearbox and engine, 3 new filters she runs like a new van babe!! So touch wood,, alls good with helga!! ( apart from no awning, and 2 window catches I broke in anger). Lolo. Xxx

Bigun!!!! Just done half the concreting and guess what??? Been rained off!! Bloody Spain and raining so hard I've had to pack it in !! Which to be honest, being a year older and inactive like you say a bit of a blessing!! Poor old Gus has a bad back so we can finish hopefully tomorrow!! But thanks for your concern!! It's nice to know someone thinks about us oldies that still have to do a days work !!! Why oh why didn't I listen to my dad and stay single!!!! Lolol. Xxxxx

Well afternoon!!!

You noticed I didn't say 'good' .....
Well that's cause it's not!
Hammering down still and I find myself awake now, sitting in helga after falling asleep to a David Bowie album( changes) ..

I slept for about an hour and a half, and I'm pleased, cause I don't know what I'd have done otherwise,, I could have talked the ears of Gus and Jackie, but why should they suffer? They've never done me any harm!!!

This is the first day I have spent so long in helga, I'm not complaining but it just reinforces to me the need to get good internet for the van, a new laptop and maybe some DVDs !!!

Now having said that ( now pay attention dude) the heating has been on all afternoon and it's a balmy 23 degrees in here, and I can't even hear the boiler!! I'm well pleased that my gas accident didn't ruin the heating! But then that's what all the safety features are for, right!!!

So earlier I was just sitting in silence and I could hear a strange sound!!
Well it turns out that the satellite dish on the roof turns itself into a tin drum in the rain ! ( that has to go when I get home) but all in all I find it quite comforting for some reason, sitting here listening to the rain on the roof and Windows!! Strange,, must be something to do with being in the womb!!!! Or at least what a psychiatrist would tell you for £150 an hour,,,, Now there's a job I could do when I get home!!!
